Quitting my job, renting out my house, flying to Nova Scotia on the 12th June.

Bought a bike, almost prepped it, paid for the shipping.

Bit of Canada, ride east to west of USA all off-road, then head south.

Well, fuck. I best renovate the house pronto. Laughing

Broke up with the Mrs a few months ago, one of the reasons being I wouldn't be able to do anything like this.

Thanks all.

I'll be getting some sheep for the seat.

Picked up my luggage, I'm using maplin versions of pelican cases. They seem pretty sturdy, and were £40 each, bargain!

Just waiting for payday to book my flight. Thumbs Up

How will the Pelican Case attach to the, what look like, standard pannier racks?

Luckily my old man is a wizard, he's making me some mounts.
Pictures to follow when they're done.

Not had a chance to do any more to the bike as I'm working on the house, stressed out is an understatement!

Did buy a lomo bag for the rack and a nice new camping chair though.

They are plenty strudy. I lug a few grand worth of camera kit into some pretty nasty conditions underground using them.

Just make sure you keep the seals clean.

I have booked my flights and a hotel for two nights. Dance!

I'm flat out for the next month working on the house, but after that should be able to get an mot on the bike and get out on the dirt.

I will do, around October, I imagine, if not before.

Few bits left to do on the bike - throttle cables, replace the float needle as it likes to stick, secure the bodywork properly, fit sat nav and power socket, bashplate, chain oiler. But, getting there!

I've got a kitchen and a bathroom to fit in my house the next few weeks, but as the weather is picking up I'll try and do the work and get an MOT as soon as I can.

Bit of route planning.

We ship into Halifax, from there it's roughly a days ride on tarmac to the start of the True North East, details of which can be found here:

https://image.ibb.co/mVdzBS/Screenshot_20180216_134614.png

At the end of that section, we get a ferry and we can hook onto the Trans Canada Trail, more of which can be found here: https://www.graveltravel.ca/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=80:tcat-forest-page-1&catid=1

We'll branch off at Toronto, to visit some of my friends family or something, head through Niagra Falls and then South through Pennyslvania until we can hook up to the TAT.

Happy to say it just passed it's MOT without any advisories.

Had my first ride on it today, feels like a big 125. No frills.

Not long to go now...!
