Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

Kids are getting their hair cut at the moment but we have been known to build forts that span two rooms. I must remember to get a photo next time.

Why am I even in this thread?
Because I glanced at it, saw "fort", thought "fart" and dived right on in.

Rolling Eyes

I like the look of those ones out in the Solent, where you can book them for some sorta luxury weekend. Now that's my kinda short/city break.

I had a huge pash for the High Chapparal when I was about 8, so myself and my younger sisters built a Western-ised version of a fort.

We were collecting metal bottle-caps off Coke bottles cos they used to have Peanuts characters on the underside, and we had fuckloads of them.

But we left them on the floor when we were sorting them into groups, and somehow (!) I fell out of the top bunk in the middle of the night and smashed my face into them. They proper fucked me up, skin all scraped off from the pointy ends of the caps.

For weeks I was covered in scabs and used to tell my school colleagues that I had fallen out of the bunkhouse Laughing

Building a fort out of cardboard was the last thing I did at my last work place when I'd realised I was fucked off with the place. It stood about 3 feet high and had castellations, a drawbridge and everything. And it flat packed down so I could tuck it out of the way when I actually decided to do some work. I dunno. I guess I just thought it was a more productive way to spend my time Laughing

A den as us Englanders call them should have provisions...provisions that could induce an epileptic fit if you let them eat the whole packet.
So my question is what supplies are you trading for peace and quiet?

Provisions in the grown-up fort hellkat must include:

Haribo Sour Cherries
M&S Ginger and Honey Yoghurt
2 bottles of Kahlua
A gallon of milk
a lorryload of 8oz steaks
72 crates of Pellegrino
and a carton of Sobranie Cocktail cigarettes
(even though I don't smoke)

Scottish Christmas Hamper. (Except we don't eat greens or those Pellegrinos.)

See, the bubbles in the Pellegrino, they help to push all the cholesterol from all the steak and dairy products, out of your arteries.

Cool Thumbs Up

Id never heard of them before... I'd start smoking again just to be all fancy (maybe a little bit camp though).

I spent part of Friday teaching my niece about Newton's Third Law of Motion. Well ok, I bought her a bottle rocket because I never got to play with one, but it's the same thing. The first launch was disappointing but the second was astounding. It flew beyond the bounds of the green and across neighbouring gardens before hitting the wall of a house. I had to suppress the instinct to shout, "RUUUNN!!" and instead reprised a line I haven't had to use in decades; "Sorry Mister, can we have our (rocket) back?" Happily it wasn't returned with a knife wound like the 11-year-old Jimbo's football.

Yeah it was a toss up between the Black Russians and the Cocktails, but as I was typing it, at the last knocking I went all girlie for the pastels.

I like that feel of the smooth gold paper on the lips, its a sensual thang.

They never really tasted of anything special, it was all about the coloured paper and the gold foil. (and the square box, damn I loved those boxes)

If you wanted pretentious stink you had to go with Gauloises or Gitanes. Or those funny clove ones from Malaysia.

Pretentious A.F. but I love 'em
(and I don't even smoke any more) Laughing
