LolExplanation of the design/construction
The long bolt thread is exposed so much because how else i would secure the exhaust to the bike + to keep a distance between exhaust can and swing arm/rear brake, its thread because i could easily adjust it

Just a suggestion (building on Freddyfruitbat's idea)...

Won't the whole mounting bracket rotate about 20 degrees around the can, so that its open ends (ie the broken bit) is closer to the bike (hopefully even butted up against that bit of Dexion frame)?

...and how my exhaust is hung, as supplied by the can manufacturer.

Such a bodged exhaust from the start. Replace the clamp for a few quid... but the fact it looks really shit anyway... Laughing

I agree that it looks shit but at least the quality of the focus /lighting and the amount of detail required is captured pretty dam good enough for us to form our opinions.

This is an excellent follow-up post from the O.P. (In my opinion.)

Very Happy

Well it worked for 2 years straight which is long enough, nothing lasts forever and everything will break one day, + riding on British roads adds it all up, instead riding in London and enjoying i need to be always alert to dodge some huge hole or else you will drop if you ride into it. Really roads in London are so awful and the organization as well, i reported about 15+ huge holes over 2 years and it usually take them 2 weeks to fix it, 1st week they just spray it white around and then fix it next week.

Rear brakes, new pads about 2 months old as well as bleed the hole system/new oil.

It passed MOT with the same exhaust setup last year no problem only thing was ''slightly loud''

Hello? JiveBunny, is that you? Hello?

Nahhh.......was looking thru some old posts and came across a couple of references to JB......Did a search and had a couple of hours of good laffs.....just that OP seems to have a similarly optimistic outlook on M/C mechanics.....the gift that keeps on giving! My fave was the omission of the rear wheel spacers closely followed by the spark plug cross threading.

Hi guys, i know you all been waiting for it.
So little update, i got the band strap for exhaust, it was really cold today but i did it, bend it nicely into circle and with the idea that someone showed picture of 2 different types of mounting exhaust so i decided to make it as on the picture, so this way i shortened the screw that was sticking out long and made it more secure.
I thought the band strap thing would look nicer but it wasn't so i painted it with black paint to make it look nice, cool thing that the brush left marks so it looks like it has nice pattern and not plain black Laughing

Better, bonus points for using so many bolts. Bonus deducted for that flex joint.

OP - Much better.

Wafer - Flex Joints are fine. I'll be using one as no-one makes a 'zorst for my commuter. It's a rat, so no fucks given, although it's current steel wool bodge is taking the piss, even by my standards. It was exactly the same scenario on my last commuter. You could get a "performance exhaust" for £300ish, or cheap end-can, flex joint and Copper infused silicone for £50 tops.

The stuff has it's uses, it's not likely to cause anything to fall off or create a danger, unlike dodgy hangers Wink

Old Thread Alert!

The last post was made 6 years, 33 days ago. Instead of replying here, would creating a new thread be more useful?
