That don’t involve tower bridge or kings cross. I am trying to get from Essex to West Kensington and always hit the same bottleneck areas each day at tower bridge or kings cross through Euston probably because of the extra traffic due to people avoiding the congestion zone.

I’ve tried darting about in the centre but it just seems a mess of traffic lights and one way systems . I come in via a12 or a 13 and need to get to West Kensington .

Any suggestions gratefully received.

Lose plate, lose helmet, ignore lights, use pavements. Very popular, I hear, and only half joking.

Got pulled over on Blackfriars bridge the other night and had to endure a "biker" cop explaining life to me for 15 minutes, all I could think about was I should have just gone round him, but that damn plate.

I am now more seriously considering some of these options

Yes but it's an utter clusterfuck of side roads, and I doubt it'll be any quicker on a bike (makes a big difference in a cage).

My usual was A13, Thames Street / Victoria Embankment, right at Northumberland Ave, The Mall/Constitution Hill, then off Hyde Park Corner and away.

I could do Hornchurch to South Ken in 45 minutes, an hour would be a very bad journey.

That ended up being a lot more interesting than I was expecting. It's not that surprising (depending on his gaming experience*) that he'd be quicker than a random racing driver, as they're an incredibly small talent pool, and a lot of them are not good gamers Smile

*if he's only been playing Gran Turismo with a pad then it was impressive.

Is that since all the bicycle friendly changes?

I tend to leave home between 6:30 and 7:30 and arrive between 7:40 to 8:45. I’d probably be quicker walking across from kings cross to the westway. Indeed one morning some twat on rollerskates kept up with me for about a mile and a half.

Go sarf young man.

A13, Rotherhithe Tunnel, Abbey St, Bricklayers, Elephant, Lambeth Bridge, Pimlico (via Greycoat Place OR Vauxhall/Bessborough), Ebury Bridge, Cheltenham Terrace, across Kings Road into Elystan Place, back doubles thru South Ken (Pelham) up to Brompton Road, along to West Ken.

Avoid central Fulham, which is a nightmare at any time of day

I have been taking this route to Chelsea on a daily basis (in the car) over the last week. Am only giving it up for an attempt at the tube tomorrow, because parking tickets Laughing

Sounds longwinded, but its proved to be much less stressful.

Edit: I used to take the same route as c-dug when I worked at the Royal Brompton, but only so I could perve on his bum.

Kings Cross is normally a pretty good route, but it's currently all borked due to the roadworks at Baker Street. I just looked up what they're doing and its a project to convert Baker Street and Gloucester Place from one-way back to two-way traffic. Expect lane closures and fucktardary until May at least.

Amateur. Hire medium box van with optional collision damage waiver Wink Tour London in said van waiting for
splatting opprtunity, Tottenham area or any of South London shouldn't have you waiting long for a suitable victim.
clump said scumbag with the NEARSIDE of the van and explain it away to the Police by having "never driven something
bigger than a car before. What!?! He was uninsured and on a stolen moped??? No waaaaay!!!" Slapped wrist if you're
very unlucky, but you won't be going inside.

Brilliant idea!
