I'm not after straight out savagery and the temperamental that goes with them. With a power commander, after market and air box mod, they will kick out closer to 80 bhp so a lot of fun.

Give it a couple more weeks and I'm off for some test rides. I'm 5ft 9 with an inside leg 31" so I could flat foot to one side easily enough. I'm tippy toes on the RSV4 if on a very slight angle, it's quite a tall bike for a sport bike.

The current Husky 450 SM is a claimed 63bhp, against 74bhpof the 701. With the considerable weight difference I'd say that makes an 11bhp difference null and void?

Remember that at speed - and these have terrible aerodynamics - it's power to that not weight ratio that's important.
Weight difference when you factor in the rider possibly makes it fairly similar - but generally I'd expect the competition bike to be a bit more wheelie-happy due to less weight with not too far off the CoG etc. And body weight being moved around will make more difference.

If I was going for the ultimate back lane hooning 4 stroke it'd still be the aforementioned Husky 650 for me - they've getting a bit long in the tooth now but seemed to be the epitome of road SM twattishnes - over a more focused newer 450 that may well be faster around a track.
