Only joking, I've got these for din-dins tonight on the recommendation of a mate. Quite looking forward to them. Razz

The same brand's mac and cheese is amazing. It's a bit pricey at £7 for 2 medium sized portions but it's worth it.

Best shop bought pies I've had. Would highly recommend. I've quite a few of the bases to get rid of still.

I agree with this post.

Has it really been 30 years since it was on?

The story behind all those vintage film clips they used to use was especially brilliant.

Getting home at 1 a.m. and being able to go straight to bed.

(instead of having to engage in lengthy pointless and boring telephone conversations filled with office politics or being lectured about how many fucking spaces to leave after a full stop - and then being expected to start typing - or doing it as soon as I got up again at 8am)

They picked the wrong moment (for them) to start quibbling about line management responsiblities Laughing
How the fuck can a self-employed person even have a line manager? Fucking idiots.

ALSO (bonus points) : the husky tones of Martin Sheen narrating on Audible with his son Emilio Estevez about their father-son relationship.

Martin Sheen's voice has always done things to my physiology which are not entirely ladylike to discuss.

I was astounded to learn that two spaces after a full stop is now considered old fashioned. I told them one space was wrong wrong wrong, go and check any online newspaper for verification. How red faced was I?

Embarassed

I do still have an electro mechanical typewriter, that's my excuse for being a fossil.

^I did use two spaces but it gets corrected Very Happy

I used to be similarly pedantic about this matter, but then I realised: life's too short to hit the space bar twice.

Grannymobile (C-Max) passed it's MOT with no advisories. A clip was missing on a CV joint cover but the mechanic fitted one for me for nowt. Thumbs Up Formula 1 autocentre in Bletchley. Good chaps for that type of garage.

Mind you, I overheard the manager on the phone to a customer...

'Sorry Madam, bad news. Your DPF is uncleanable, it will need replacing. A price Madam, certainly, £1450 including labour' Shocked

He held the phone away from his ear for the next few minutes. Laughing

How many spaces should one leave after a full-stop in this age of illiteracy?

DPF cleaning requires some very specialist equipment, what he probably meant, is that they didn't have the kit
to clean it properly. Avon Tuning could have cleaned it
Replacement was 3k for my Sprinter, partially why I sacked it off and got the Transit. The previous owner of the
Merc had a pattern DPF fitted, presumably after it was stolen (because London) and the engine management didn't
like it one bit. Initially I had the DPF gutted and the software deleted plus a remap, which sorted all of the issues
and made the van much nicer to drive and noticeably faster. But then learning of the plans to alter the MOT test to
check DPFs and emissions control equipment was functioning correctly and after hearing 3k Shocked Shocked Shocked from Mercedes
to put things back to factory spec again Middle Finger Neutral Middle Finger it was time to pass it on to a new owner. I checked the other day and
it's currently not taxed or insured, but it is MOT'd (would have been sold with a fresh one) which means they have
almost certainly sold it on to pikeys. Rolling Eyes

Touch typists were always taught to use two spaces in the days of mechanical typewriters, but since word processors came in its generally moved to just one. Certainly if you're preparing copy for print (as I often do), publishers get pissed off with two spaces - they claim to standardise the width of the gap after a full stop to their liking using software, and using two spaces buggers that up.

One should leave one space.

Or indeed none.
But only if one is using short instructional paragraphs.

Otherwise, stick to one space. Each extra space takes a fraction of a second off your life to perform, and some of us are at an age where we can't afford such disgraceful wastage.

Only had that happen once (with my first bike policy). It's strange when insurers actually want to keep your custom.
