So, with the latest posturing in the pro EU media over the "alleged" Russian assassination of the former Russian spy and his daughter, does anyone else feel there might be a slight agenda to these anti Russian/Putin or US/Trump stories littering every news bulletin?
It has a smell of the media demonising the two world super powers, making them into enemies of the UK, to re-enforce the need for the EU, it's perceived security and it's growing desire for it's super power size army. You know, "It's a big scary world out there on your own"..
I mean this latest Russian poisoning is a bit odd isn't it? The bloke was in a Russian prison for 7 years before being handed over to the UK for asylum in a diplomatic deal. If the Kremlin wanted him dead, why didn't they make him suddenly die of "natural causes" in prison in Russia 15 years ago?
We're supposed to believe that they preferred to wait until years after he'd been living in the UK, after being freed from Russian prison almost 15 years earlier, to execute him and his daughter on UK soil.
Something doesn't add up here. It might sound a bit tin foil hat, but could pro EU forces be secretly behind this to further discredit Putin/Russia. ____________________ TZR250 2MA road, TZR250 1KT road, TZR250 2MA race, TDR250, YZF-750R Boost colours.

Clearly not. They didn't want rid of him after his conviction when they had him in their own prison for 7 years.
Oh no, way too easy. They thought they'd make life harder for themselves and execute him and his daughter in a very public way, in the UK 15 years later, which was bound to make everyone think it was the Russians.
Nothing to do with an unknown state using him and his daughter as cannon fodder in a political propaganda battle then? 2 deaths of Russian citizens in this way will do wonders to damage UK/Russian relations. Do you really think state politics doesn't get up to dirty tricks like this?
Way too easy to blame the Russians, much like the last bloke with the Polonium-210, which has also never been proven or admitted by Russia. ____________________ TZR250 2MA road, TZR250 1KT road, TZR250 2MA race, TDR250, YZF-750R Boost colours.

Oh come on, it would have sent the same message out to the Russians if he mysteriously died in prison 15 years ago. There are already repercussions with the Pro EU media creaming their pants on yet another anti Russian story. Even Boris has been throwing accusations and threats before anyone even knows how they died. How will they cope without UK referees, Oh noes...

Litvinenko continued to be a thorn in Putin's side after he gained asylum here in the UK.
Quote: | He fled with his family to London and was granted asylum in the United Kingdom, where he worked as a journalist, writer and consultant for the British intelligence services...
During his time in London, Litvinenko wrote two books, Blowing Up Russia: Terror from Within and Lubyanka Criminal Group, wherein he accused the Russian secret services of staging the Russian apartment bombings and other terrorism acts in an effort to bring Vladimir Putin to power. He also accused Putin of ordering the murder in October 2006 of the Russian journalist Anna Politkovskaya. |

He was in prison for 6 or 7 years before the swap deal.
Are you saying Russia wanted to kill him, but had the foresight of a deal to be brokered 7 years later, which would make his death far more difficult, but could return prisoners to their benefit?
OK, we'll assume this is what happened. So why did they let him carry on regardless for another 6 or 7 years in the UK before they decided to very publicly assassinate him in a way which they knew would clearly be blamed on them?
I don't buy it. Way too convenient for it to be Russia and not a propaganda attack.

Nor with many others in the international security services, including former MI5 agents.
Quote: | The possibility of an unexplained substance being involved has drawn comparisons with the 2006 poisoning of Alexander Litvinenko - a public inquiry concluded the killing of the Russian dissident was probably carried out with the approval of the Russian President, Vladimir Putin.
Former MI5 officer Annie Machon pointed out that the two cases were very different, however.
Mr Litvinenko was a whistleblower, dissident and consultant for MI6 actively at the time of his death, she said, whereas Mr Skripal has already been caught, convicted and pardoned and allowed to freely find safe haven in the UK.

Even if these latest deaths were to blame on "the Russians", it wouldn't necessarily mean that Putin or the Russian state was directly responsible. It might have been carried out by someone who assumed that Putin would be pleased about it, in order to curry favour in some way, whilst their actions had never actually been sanctioned. Not necessarily even by a Russian citizen. ____________________ Chickenystripgeezer's Biking Life (Latest update 19/10/18) Belgium, France, Italy, Austria tour 2016 Picos de Europa, Pyrenees and French Alps tour 2017 Scotland Trip 1, now with BONUS FEATURE edit, 5/10/19, on page 2 Scotland Trip 2 Luxembourg, Black Forest, Switzerland, Vosges Trip 2017

Clearly 7 years after they used him as a bargaining chip and returned to the UK, the Russian former spy, who was spying on the UK, then turned double agent. Well, if you believe the media agenda here, that's what we're meant to be thinking.
rpsmith79 wrote: | If Russia had a political prisoner they could possibly at some point in the future use as a trade, do you not think they would hold onto it

Maybe, but it doesn't explain why it took them 7 years to snuff him out after he'd been returned to the UK.
The media are full of zero evidence and are using expert after expert to state the grand sum of zero, on how much they know about how this bloke was killed.
It's amazing how much of an agenda you can push with no evidence what so ever, other than "he was a former Russian double agent, so it must have been the Ruskies".
Even the foreign secretary is jumping to conclusions, without knowing anything about how they died. Along with May publicly slagging off the leader of the USA, these politicians might be better off keeping their gobs shut. Even more so when we have an infrastructure which almost ran out of gas during one cold week. ____________________ TZR250 2MA road, TZR250 1KT road, TZR250 2MA race, TDR250, YZF-750R Boost colours.
