A while back, I bought a disc brake front wheel with caliper, bracket and master cylinder on ebay for my Enfield project. It was £140 delivered. Described as "Royal Enfield front wheel"
I just got it out to have a proper look and try it on the bike... It's not Royal Enfield. It has, however, been made to fit a Royal Enfield.
I've tracked down the brake calliper as being a Brembo, 2-pot opposed caliper used on K-series BMWs and some 70s/80's Moto Guzzi Californians and V50s.
It's been fitted with a profiled steel bracket which has been well made, it fitted like a glove and lined the disc up bang in the centre of the caliper.
So that's ok. I can get parts/pads for it.

The magura master cylinder/throttle assembly looks like it's off a K-series BMW.

The hub though. I have no idea about. Enfields have the axle built into the wheel hub (a bit like a bicycle) and it bolts into the fork rather than sliding the spindle through a hole in the fork ends and bolting it up. This hub has presumably been modified (bearings, spacers etc) to take an Enfield wheel spindle assembly. This hub also has an Enfield speedo drive attached.
The offset disc carrier is oddball as is the means of attaching it. The carrier bolts onto the disc, not the other way round. The inner circle of drillings in the disc is threaded. I have seen pictures of late 70's Moto Guzzis with a similar setup but on an un-drilled disc.

Be nice to know what it's off. If not just for idle curiosity, then so I can get a replacement disc in the unlikely event I ever wear this one out. ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink.
