I have to take off my wheel and figured could get the bearings greased while I'm at it, looking at a budget grease found this. I didn't have any luck finding a motorcycle specific one just wondering can I use this one for the job. Thanks

I have a yamaha dragstar 650, I was watching a video tutorial on the same bike to remove the wheel and he suggested to grease it using the same brand grease, I couldn't find the specific on he used though, just wanted to make sure this one is fine.

I don't know whether I have to or not, I'm just following his tips.

I've never understood why they don't just come from the factory with sealed bearings fitted. May already have been done anyway.

I’ve always assumed that the factories bought a colossal supply of open bearings and seals in bulk and have been working through them for the past 40 years.

My er6 had an open bearing for the sprocket carrier. The wheel bearings are sealed. Needless to say the open bearing didn't like water much so I replaced it with a sealed one.

That said even my 38 year old cx500 came with sealed wheel bearings

Whatever you buy, make sure that you do not use copper based grease as some people appear to use this stuff for just about everything.

I buy my new bearings from a local bearing specialist. They advised that when regreasing existing bearings,do not pack it out,as this can cause problems.

As for which grease I use for bearings, whether for head races or wheels,I reach for a jar of HMP grease. This is specifically for wheel bearings as it has a higher melting point and is still waterproof.
Halfords sell a variety of Castrol greases. The labelling on the canister is a helpful guide Thumbs Up Wink
