I see, so what they should have used was a repeating musket, cannon and barrels of gunpowder at parklands instead.
Of course 200 years ago or not doesn't matter in the first place.

There wasn't so much an exception more a compromise.

No full auto above 370FPS. Anything above must be locked to semi or designed to shoot semi (bolt action). A super vague cannot be modified with tools found in the home clause was added in so you can't just remove the selector switch or put a screw preventing the switch from going to auto.

You know he's getting played, right? That's certainly what it all points to anyway.

Lots of POTUS in the past have declined invitations from NK to talk about disarmament/de-escalation of NK/SK issues because to accept a meeting with the regime is to accept them as a global equal. All Trump will end up doing is giving KJU the right to claim the US sees them that way, thus reinforcing the propaganda he feeds his people. Let's face it, it's the only thing he feeds his people - where 84% of the population have borderline or poor food consumption.*

You sound like Jermey Vines on Al Beeb Radio 2 today.
He was desperate to put a negative agenda on it too.

They dragged up the biggest Trump hating "experts" they could to insult him in every way possible, for daring to try to establish peace for a change.

I don't mind him going for it at all, and it might even achieve peace, but let's not kid ourselves this is because of Trump's tactical or diplomatic nous. This is KJU getting one over on the US and the UN. Develop some shonky nukes, wind up the cretin in the Whitehouse until he gets all button-pressy, offer a peace deal as a global power, win.

If Vine thinks similarly about Trump getting played then it doesn't undermine my opinion of KJU's game here.

Yes, but I imagine he knows it as well. I expect it'll be a game of who can most publicly stand up the other at the last moment, or humiliate them on the scene. The venue is going to be fascinating. Will Nixon Trump go to China NorKor, will Little Rocket Man get a trip to Washington, or will they find a neutral venue? Come London, we can line up to boo the murderous despotic dictator, and cheer Kim Jong-un.

However, there is a teeny tiny chance that they might actually get together, and they might conceivably do some straight talking and come up with some sort of mutually beneficial deal.

That is what Trump does for a living, after all.

I like Scott Adams' idea of a 100 year plan to unify Korea. I'm not so sure about the international protection pact, but declaring a long term objective and rough timetable might give a framework for ramping down the crazy.

The propaganda over which he already has total control. So, what harm?

Half-sanctions haven't achieved anything. Refusal to talk hasn't achieved anything. Softly-softly overtures haven't achieved anything.

Acting cuckoo-bananas on a level that Jong-un can understand, well, here we are.

Whatever happens, it'll continue to be lulzy.

Oh, lest we forget:

2016: Tillerson labelled as being pro-Putin, Legacy Media soils the bed.

2018: Tillerson labelled as being anti-Putin. Legacy Media, etc.

Anyone who's been paying the slightest attention to the God Emperor's career will know that he doesn't so much hire the best people as hire the ones who are most advantageous to him in the immediate present. That means that as soon as you're not his #1 choice, you're gone in a New York second.

There was no reason to think that he'd run his administration any differently. None of this should be a surprise.

You make it sound like a slow news day!
Today's order of play...

Tuesday:
Rex Tillerson, Secretary of State fired.

Goldstein, under-secretary of State fired (for contradicting the White House version of when they told Tillerson he was sacked).

McEntee, Trump's chief arsehole licker fired from his White House job, escorted immediately from the grounds for 'serious financial crimes'.

McEntee, recently fired from the White House, promoted to 'senior campaign adviser' for Trump's re-election campaign.

Keep this up and they're going to have to let Kellyanne Conway out of the basement...

Interesting, isn't it? Let's look at the explanation:

Putting aside the thought that choosing instant gratification over long time excellence is something we'd certainly expect from a toddler, but not necessarily from a US president, what does it say about ex-sec Rex?

May be, indeed, that he was "most advantageous" when he was best chums with colonel Putin and "gone in a second" when he realised that there are limits as to what a dictator should be allowed to do in a longtime ally's backyard.

Realised incorrectly.

Do you have some sort of ideological issue with that? Because practically speaking, the US has nothing to gain in a conflict with Russia. Contrast with their tussle with China-China-China who are deliberately trying to destroy the US manufacturing base.

As to ally, Sharia has joined in the sneery pissing and moaning about the God Emperor since he ascended to the throne. But now she wants Daddy Murca to get her back? Why would they? What's in it for them?

A Murcan president putting Murca's interests first? The horror.

Ideologically, there's the issue of choosing values on which we build states and societies: very generally, do we choose those of the Enlightenment or do we establish some Asian-style oligarchy?

Practically, there's nothing fundamentally wrong with US manufacturing; certainly not to the level where it should play a major role in international relations.

Wandering round Italy in a big shirt trying to get laid, or dragging eleventeen billion people from the stone age to the space age in a generation.

Wait, what's a rhetorical question again?

Um no the job of US and UK politicians isn't the well being of their people. It is to win the next election nothing more.

In fact the system(s) is/are designed to acknowledge the ambitions of petty individuals by the separation of powers into executive branches.

Thus a system organised around the weakest qualities qualities of individuals will produce the same qualities in its leaders.

The mark of an educated man is the suppression of these qualities in favour of better ones. This is the foundation of civilisation.

Traditionally. Which keeps them beholden to the Party, by which I mean the Party's owners. Strong and stable.

But traditionally, a self funding reality TV loon couldn't become President. And yet here we are.

What a time to be alive.
