Struggling with some inverse Laplace transforms...

(5s-5) / (s^2 + s - 6)

any ideas how to tackle it?

One of Arcanes socks should be along shortly to help no doubt

Either that, or ask your teacher/tutor to help out

Pasting the equation into google brings back a few results that look relevant.
It's way too complicated for me and not something I've ever seen on numberphile..

factorise your (s^2 + s - 6) and make that your new denominator.

Solve, the partial fraction, using the roots from your factorisation.

Ahh it was partial fractions all along!

Managed to figure it out eventually... Thanks for the help

If anyone is curious the final answer was/is:

4e^-3t + e^2t

Inverse laplace transforms section of any engineering mathematics book, basically. You'll need to know for your exams anyway tbh.

Inverse laplace transform is kinda useless anyway. It's the s-domain form that is powerful.

What course are you on?
