He should of know better than to speed down the A5 on a sunny day. North wales is just full of police, so much that some bikers just don't go anymore.

S1000RR again. No need for, etc.

He did get off amazingly lightly though - they'll be queueing up to get in front of those magistrates.

Someday, somewhere, somehow, a ‘journalist’ will accurately report the make and/ or model of bike involved in a news article.

So you mean you'll wriggle and squirm and try anything to get out of the shit once caught?

If a calibrated fixed cam gets you for doing 138 in a 60, why exactly do you think you should walk free? Or should all biker's be exempt from motoring laws and speed limits?

It's not like doing a cheeky 38-40mph in a 40, or just under 100 on a nice empty dual carriageway? The guy didn't accidentally more than double the speed limit, he accelerated like a mother fucker way past insta ban speed if caught.

Its got nothing to do with it being a BMW with 200bhp, he could have been on a 15year old CBR 600. Rider went full retard on the public highway, and you want a free pass?

Just out of interest, what would the typical fine be for riding at 93 in a 70 (M5 motorway at night)?
Asking for a friend.

Sure, you can do that.

It doesn't mean that they won't prosecute you anyway. Doors go get put in and gear seized and compared to pictures.

Extenuating circumstances - "I'm sorry your honour, I was distracted looking for the indicator stalk and didn't realise how powerful the bike was..."

Maybe he was on 6 points already, in which case another 6 would have won him a 6 month totting up ban!

For an offence of speeding that isn't particularly light. The guideline the court would have used is at https://www.sentencingcouncil.org.uk/offences/item/speeding-revised-2017/

The only option the court has is a ban and a fine - they can't go up into community orders or prison for speeding. For a speed of 91+ in a 60, the guideline is up to 56 days and a band C fine (1.5 weeks income), with a note saying they can exceed that for speeds "grossly in excess". In this case they went up to 90 days, and depending what the guy earns that fine looks big for a band C too.

Where I think he was lucky was not to be charged with careless or dangerous driving, then he could be looking a prison time.

Steve.

Funny enough, when I drove my mate's BMW, I forgot to use the turn signals several times. The car made me do it! Laughing

Bastirts. I got nicked by a fat twat in a van for doing 35 in a 30 on a S1000RR (with dynamic race package on-board) never made a jot of difference to the 3 points and the £100 fine. Shocked

How do the guys in the Van get you? on the way up to them and then note down the number plate as you go past?

If so, can't you slow down and hold your hand over the plate as you go past the front? Just wondering...

Or could use one of them number plate flippers..

Why is it majority of speeding incidents I see on bikes involve S1000RR's?

Seem to the modern day equivalent of the GSXR for people getting on & just ragging them.

He went to the extreme of stopping and covering his plate...

£200 fine, 9month custodial sentence suspended for a year, 150 hours community service, and just 3 points on his license...

What happened to the sentencing guidelines?!

how did they find him??

like kudos for his attempt, but the only way i can see them catching him is if he's shit in his own back yard... the idea is to trek out to places once every few months (rotate where you go) so they can't pinpoint it on you?
