Sorry for not getting back to any of you guys on here, things have been a bit hectic.
So I mentioned earlier that I have some health problems, well, I've finally found out why. For 2 years I was going to the Doctors complaining of pain and nausea only to be knocked back and told it was all in my head. I was even accused of just trying to score some opiate painkillers on a few occasions. Over this time I was just honestly getting more and more depressed about it and I was slowly losing interest in all the things I used to enjoy. When I posted my initial posts in this thread I was in a very down and bitter mood, I thought perhaps I was going mad to be honest and that I was going to have to live like this for the foreseeable future.
Well, I tried another surgery and my new GP agreed to run some tests on me and after an ultrasound, turns out I have a giant kidney stone! She says that a stone that size (about 6cm judging from the scan) can cause back ache, nausea, problems concentrating, headaches, stabbing pains etc. She basically rattled off every thing I have been feeling for 2 years! I've got a meeting with a specialist in the next couple of weeks to talk about getting this thing removed and after that I should be back to my old self.
I'll give it about 3 - 4 weeks after the surgery then I'll be hopping back on the bike. I can't describe how happy I am to finally have an answer to all the crap I've been going through these past years. It wasn't that I was bored of the bike (or other things for that matter), I was feeling like crap and didn't feel like doing anything as a result. Amazing how chronic pain can change you as a person. |

meh - I used to think that, but now I just walk past my bikes and ignore them mostly, unless (a) I have to get somewhere, and it's too far to cycle, (b) I'm going green laning
I might perk up in the summer, but I just don't even look forward to road riding at all, I just see it as a chore |
