Totally new to the NSR world. Some expertise would be nice.
I have a 1997 NSR, it outta have the jc22 cylinder? Or is the jc22 and jc20 standing for something else?

JC20 is the round headlamps model, JC22 has the foxeye. Lots of other little differences between the two but that would be the most noticeable.
Engine wise I believe they are almost the exact same., most parts available on Wemoto or David Silver Spares. Good luck with it and welcome

Hi,
Just to confuse people both the earlier, round headlight jc20 & the later foxeye jc22 have the engine code jc20.

So a a 1997 foxeye would be correctly identified as a jc22 model (presuming the frame/VIN no. starts ZDCJC22) but the actual engine no. will start jc20.

This is due to both models sharing almost identical engines.
Hope that makes sense Smile

cheers,
GAZ

I'm pretty sure the JC22 has a thicker head to help prevent warping, this means the engine is a little taller than the one which comes with the JC20.

NSR125 are from 1989 (RK) to 1992 (RN) all are JC20
models from 1993 (RP) to 2001 (01) are JC22
the last 4 years have slight modifications and identifications with a letter telling the country with the state specifications
A & D >>>Italy
C >>>>>>UK & Irl
B >>>>>>Fr & DE
E >>>>>>Switzerland
Since 1993-1997 ID numbers are ZDCJC2280!Fxxxxxx
1998-2001 ZDCJC22?0!Fxxxxxx
! lettre W-X-Y-1 (1998-2001)
? A to E the country
most of years have 2 colours , so it's a other way to identify NSR's
