I always get my tyres from FWR.

Not a million miles from you - worth checking them out.

Hard to say from the pic, I would not be replacing the rear yet if grip was decent. I have often ran them down to the cord.

Fronts I change early. My current has 3mm all over except 1mm right shoulder and will change soon. If it were even wear I would change at 2mm.

Yeah, but you're a gibbering idiot, even Bodyform isn't that stupid.

From the pic there is 1-2mm left in the centre, which is perfectly roadworthy. Grip is a measurable thing and being near the cord does not suddenly make a good rear tyre turn to shit.

I have had new tyres that would spin up in slighty damp weather and I have had excellent tyres that would not spin in extreme wet conditions even when bald.
The shit tyre got removed after about 1000 miles with nearly full tread and scrapped.

i rate the Avon 3d-xm's if all you're doing is riding down the motorway. Mine last set had over 17k miles and looked in much better condition than yours do.. i don't ride slowly either so could have probably got a few more out of them

My were fitted to my thundercat for £180 iirc but then the tire guy gets a ridiculous price.

Agreed, wet and dry they are superb, last well too, although I might get 5k on my rear, perhaps the roads round me are far rougher.

Any time I've had Bridgestones I don't have any feel in the wet, strange as their car tyres are excellent, but I'd avoid them.

Your rear is goosed, and your front has a lot of wear that indicates suspension not set right for your weight/riding style, – If you have a raised area on either the leading or back edge of the tread, this is a strong sign that rebound damping on the forks or shock is set either too fast or too slow. Usually if it’s on the leading edge rebound is too slow, and if it’s on the back edge it’s too fast

So..... given time was very short and i started a new job last week which has me traveling a hell of a lot.

the bike went into the local garage and had a set of Bridgestone T30s where fitted at a cost of £250.

Next time i will prepare a lot more in advance and take the wheels loose etc.
