The keys getting a bit sticky so it's time to fit a new lock assembly. How do I go about getting the old barrel out? (INB4 ask the local bike thieves Laughing )

Diagram here

Item 26 held in by item 27. Item 27 is a security bolt, which you screw into place then knock the end off, making it impossible to undo again by conventional means. May be able to tap it round with a punch, or cut a slot in and unscrew it, or file some flats on it and use a spanner, or drill it out. You may want to do the seat lock too if you want matched keys.

Before all that though, will some lock lubricant not fix it?

Locks dont usually wear too much, blast it with brake cleaner and get some new keys cut.
