I just recently changed the rear pads on my daelim roadwin (13 plate)

Everything seemed to go well but now with everything torqued up the wheel takes physical force to turn

If i loosen the caliper bracket bolts off slightly, the binding stops and the wheel moves a bit more freely allbeit still a bit stiff

The previous rear wheel on this bike was buckled (ive mentioned this in another post) could this have bent the bracket maybe?

It sounds like your caliper isn't moving freely on the slider pins.

Take the caliper off again, and pull it off the mounting bracket (it should slide off easily but it probably won't. Remove the rubber boot that goes through the caliper and clean any oxidisation out of the hole. Grease the pins with some silicone or red rubber grease and reassemble.

I take lots of photos, lay the parts out as they're taken off. Plenty of jobs can be done using that method.

it was one of the slider pins in the end so "islander" you were spot on (sorry not worked out how to tag names or anything like that Smile )

the boot had a hole in it and from the amount of build up ive removed from the slider pin housing its been like that for a bloody long time

took a lot of hard work to get out though ha ha

thanks for the advice really appreciate it, saved me the cost of a whole caliper vs a new slider boot
