Not sure if this is the right section for this post, but this is WAY beyond the usual invisible biker!

Looks like the rider tried to smack the car mirror off beforehand. Not that it justifies the drivers actions of course but the rider is clearly not as innocent as he's making out.

I can't remember where I saw it, but in an interview the rider was saying that the driver had been throwing coins at him beforehand.

Still no excuse (on either side).

When I did the BikeSafe course with the Met, we were shown videos of “wrong” behaviour on the road. In one, a car fails to give way to a biker at a junction, car and bike brake at the last second luckily without hitting each other, biker uses not-so-nice words for the driver, then rides off ahead of the driver. The obvious mistake was you should always keep your cool, refrain from verbal aggressions (easier said than done, etc.). The slightly less obvious mistake, not everyone in the group had thought of, is never overtake a motorist you have had some kind of altercation with, as he may run you over. Let them go ahead of you.

Or just fuck off into the sunset and leave the 4-wheeler bumbling along behind.

Last summer there was the case, somewhere in the continent, of a van driver who had an argument with a biker, and decided to hit the bike at 60 mph (or something like that). The rider went into a coma but survived; his girlfriend (pillion) died.

Easier said than done when the other driver is in something like an S3. Those kinda cars can stick to anything under a litre more than you'd expect.

S3? Is that a Dyson?

Never had anything on four wheels catch me if I'm on a bike.
