there was a game i used to play on either the spectrum or Aimga.

you where on a space ship full of robots.
there were security robots with the number 999.
you started off as 001 robot and you could take over other robots by playing a mini logic/circuit type game.

im sure it was a thing and not just my failing memory.

Sounds like Paradroid to me.

There was a ZX Spectrum text adventure game. -

You would input your name.

When waiting for the a command it would say "What Next (your name)?"

If a command was invalid, it would say "I Do Not Understand x"

Usual Verb/Noun commands. It was vaguely sword and sworcery/d&d/hobbit in style. So, it was not any of the Advetnure A/B/C/D early games, wasn't of course actually the hobbit, or d&d

Some of the situations to get past included, a bridge that was an illusion, cross it and you fall to your death.

A lake with crocodiles in, crossed by paddling an old bath tub across.

A passageway with mushrooms in, proceed to far along it, and choke to death from the spores they gave off.

Some trolls to avoid.

Would have been released sometime between 83 and 86.

I think you've managed to describe all text adventures in your post! However, a Mathemagical adventure had a bathtub that you needed to use to cross a lake. That was on the BBC Micro, but it may have been ported to the Speccy I guess?

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.
