Hi

Does anyone know what the type of helmet was that was worn by ewan mcgregor and charlie boorman in the long way round. It was like a motorcross helmet but with a visor.

Are they road legal in the uk, and can we even get em over here??

any info greatly appreciated.

My friend just got one of those, because of the long way round.......insanely cool looking, but he wishes he had got a traditional style helmet.
Apparently it is very noisy when used on fast roads, and as is also said in an MCN review, the visor rattles alot. Taking the visor off is simple, but it looks crap without it..... looks like helmet jimmy hill would have to wear to accomodate his chin lol.
Apparently the visor lets water in also according to MCN.
on the plus side, the large chin area stops the visor from misting up so much.

bloody cool looking, wanted one myself until my mate forked out first and realised its problems....more suited to slow touring than general use. id also be scared of the visor catching wind as i looked around, throwing my head back or me off balance.
