Seems a lenient sentence to me. The irritating little pillock's a multi millionaire and he can just pay for taxis or limos. I dont think a driving ban is gonna be very punitive. A few months in prison would have served a fine example to those who drink and drive. Judge must have been paid off.

He'll find that dosh in the back of the sofa, and he can employ a driver for a year on one Saturday nights takings.

What's the fucking point of that sentence when he can just get a limo everywhere? And is 60% of weekly pay as a fine normal in these circumstances? Think I paid that for speeding at magistrates, never mind for driving and crashing while pissed.

I don't think jail was required, but a nice stretch of community service, a decent fine and being made to walk everywhere would have done.

Community service in a garden centre, wasn't it? I don't see how that was a punishment.

The treasury consolidated fund.

"Payments into the fund.

All tax revenue is paid into the fund unless Parliament has specifically provided otherwise by law.

Any money received by the government which is not taxation, and is not to be retained by the receiving department (for example, fines), is classed as a Consolidated Fund extra receipt (CFER). These are to be paid into the Consolidated Fund as soon as they are received."

Unless it was a huge £5 million fine he was never going to feel it in the pocket, 86K plus the cost of his legal team isnt peanuts,
the loss of face on TV will certainly hurt him in the near future, but should it really matter going forward ?

I found the fact his own mother let him get in a car after drinking more worrying, but if I was stereo typical, is it just OK to drink and drive for Geordie`s ? so she thought it was OK ?

This outcome is pathetic. Of course the nation's ragpapers are all over the 'huge' fine, but it's negligible in relative terms and, as everyone else has said, won't leave him even noticeably out of pocket. Given his net worth is said to be around £65m, an equivalent fine for me would be £4.81. Therefore, in relation to average earning Joe Public, he has been fined a large Costa latte.

That'll learn 'im.

Punishment* for drink drive related crimes has always been pathetic.
Cunt who killed my brother got 18 months, can't remember what financial penalty there was, if any.
That's irrelevant to the victims family anyway.

* loosely used

"I'm so sorry for what happened."
How about "I'm so sorry for what I did"? Twat.

And.
I have every sympathy for people who have a drink problem, but the decision to get behind the wheel when you're three sheets to the wind is one that's made consciously

A proper punishment is he should be forced to ride a 1000cc bike around tge isle of man and maintain an average speed of at least 70mph while p1ssed.
