Hi Guy's, can someone point me in the right direction. I started my bike this morning and half the electrics are out,
Head light works high and low beam
electric start works
could be more working.
Just to confirm the bike starts and runs fine. all fuses are good.
Indicators not working
hazards not working
rear lights and brake lights not working
fuel gauge not working
speedo and rev counter not working
clock lights not working

checking fuses would be a good place to start
then related connectors ( could be a poor connection)
After visual inspection and wiggling stuff
I'd be checking the diagram for commonalities
in the non working systems to give me a clue as to where to
start poking the meter leads

You do have a meter don't you ?

Sorry, I miss read the the order on the fuse box, check the first fuse not the last.
Anyway replaced the 10 a fuse and it blows straight away.
Yes I have a meter and a wiring diagram, just hoping for some pointers before I get deep into it, hoping to get it back on the road tomorrow.

Dont put another fuse in yet
If your meter has a continuity beeper( if not use low ohm setting)
connect one lead to ground and another to the power out
fuse terminal
It should beep (show low ohms )constantly
Opening various connectors on at a time should get it to stop
and hopefully give clues as to what's shorting to ground,
Then
Moving the fuse lead to the connector with offending wire/s
should tell which wire/device is shorting/blowing fuses

cant be specific as i dont know the bike

Thanks WD for responding, but it's sorted. Just took a punt and thought whats the last thing I did to the bike. Turns out that it was as simple as a blow tail/brake light shorting. I think because I lost so much i just went into panic mode, stupid Idea to put so much on one fuse. Anyway all sorted and back on the road. Wink
