And that's why it's surprising! He's actually presiding.

The role is largely powerless and token, but it doesn't mean the man doing it need be.

It depends how you view social media. Either it's a brilliant democratic platform that allows individuals to express ideas and shape the world, or it's a moronic construct used by narcissists to connect with other mouth-breathers.

I do find it amusing how quickly the narrative switches, one minute it's responsible for democratic uprisings and a force for good, the next it's solely responsible for putting Hitler in The White House and Brexit.

That isn't anything unusual is it.

If a platform supports someone's views it's good. If it's opposed to someone's views it's bad.

The 'unusual' aspect of social media is it totally depends who you are linked to dictates what it comes across as and because in the case of facebook the damn thing learns what you like and dislike.

So mpd probably thinks Facebook is pro KKK because he is linked to the far right through his friends and Jewlio thinks Diane Abbott must be a sex godess because of all the likes his left wing friends give her. Wink

I don't see how Trump is going to be anything but, if he keeps sacking the people he brings into his administration. It's through them that his influence (or lack of) lies, isn't it?

Hence why I never liked or disliked anything, when I did have an account. I like perving so that's what I used it for Wub

Talk about, "Hoist with his own petard". Rolling Eyes

For someone who constantly labels people, who don't share your opinions, (as exhibited in this very thread, "Trump hating far lefty", "Presecco Socialist"), moaning about social media branding/labelling certain views and using them to beat people with, really does take the biscuit.
You could at least stick to a narrative, instead of flip flopping your views when it suits you, (usually when you have no valid argument).

By the way, it's "Prosecco"!
