Summer gear - 600 denier polyester vs 12.5oz Cordura?

I am checking websites for summer gear and found that many mesh jackets use 600 denier polyester fabric, but there are also overshirts from Rev’It that use 12.5oz Cordura® denim. Which one is stronger for abrasion resistance? I know that Rev’It also adds PWR|Shield in the elbows that significantly improves abrasion resistance (then I feel cordura denim+Shield beats 600D in abrasion resistance), but what about areas where it has Cordura Denim alone? How good is it vs 600D?

Sorry chap, actual abrasion tests for those fabrics appear to be few and far between. I can sperg some unsourced test results for other fabrics, but that doesn't help you.

I would note that polyester is apparently prone to melting, but if you can slide far enough to wear through either on a typical UK road without intersecting with the furniture or the landscape, I'll be surprised. I'd be more interested in adding impact rather than abrasion resistance to my joints.

The gear I am looking seem not to differ much regarding the impact protection - Both CE 1 or 2 (don’t remember, but exactly the same category).
