Ahem, Bamburgh castle. Good grief, takes a southerner to tell you that Rolling Eyes Laughing

Good views of the Cheviots to be had from the battlements of Lindisfarne castle (see below).

There is something a bit special about the fact it becomes an island twice a day, if you are there as the road floods it is fascinating.

Every year people get caught out, sometimes you can get to the refuge point but it's deeper beyond - by the time you turn round it is getting dangerous on the first section too.

The Isle of Wight is England's smallest county twice a day. I love that.

Went to Holy Island years ago and sat next to James Nesbitt in the pub because they were filming the Cold Feet millennium special there at the time.

Nowadays my inlaws all live in that neck of the woods but for some reason I've not been back to Holy Island. I don't think anything could top the experience of watching James Nesbitt quietly reading a script.

The weirdest thing about that video is the road looks to be in perfect condition. Surely it should have corroded it having all that water going over or am I missing science 101.

To be even more random, if your Mrs likes Baileys, do try the Monk's own version...

That sounds a bit rude, but it wasn't meant to...

I don't suppose it freezes very often which is the main agent of destruction.
Could they use a special version of tarmac too, like you can get different spec concrete for difficult conditions?
