Well meaning advice: until you're ready to ditch it and do some training and your 'A' tests, do not ride anything bigger, not even briefly.

The moment you do, you'll instantly understand why.

I am 47 and new to biking - I like you was over 150kg until recently and I too was worried about a 125. I went to my Honda dealer and he said that the CB125F I have now ordered will be more than adaquate as it was designed to carry 2 12st people. Yes it might not hit max speed but thats not the point. I can't wait to get on it!

I might be able to help with the weight issue too - Try cutting out ALL bread and think about taking a vitamin D supplement. I've lost 5st in 5months by being careful as well as doing the above.

Thanks for both advice on the bike and diet, I love bread but I think the worst part of my diet is energy drinks, I’m trying to get used to diet versions(of caffeinated drinks) and I’m also intermittent fasting the days I go to college, I’ve lost 1kg so far, but I’ll definitely try cut down the bread haha.

I don't want to turn this into a diet thread but "diet" versions of fizzy drinks and all sorts of "low sugar" items contain sweetners such as sorbitol, mannetol etc and these can be worse for people than normal sugar.

I discovered 4 years ago after over 20 years of chronic constipation and bloating that I was firstly Lactose, then also Fructose and Fructans intolerant and as a result I had IBS-C and a host of other ailments which are now permanant. The diet changes I have had to make have had a side effect of dropping me from a 38" waist with overhanging gut and saddles to a trim 30" and weight from 96 to 65 kg.

Just because they say "its healthy" doesn't mean it is - its a trick known as marketing helped by advertisements.

Yeah I know this is all true, they have sweateners and what not that can be just as bad, I’m just trying to cut down on the full fat ones and cut out completely, my intermittent fasting on the other hand seems to be going well.

Not sure about a scoot, the suspension might be a bit soft
for errr...... lets say the 'stouter' amongst us.

last one I rode, admittedly a retro chinoise one
would scrape the mainstand on moderate cornering and I'm 100KG
of well defined muscle*
