Carnage?
destroys M5 with a wee scoot?
disembowels 8 year old orphan and eats heart?
dont spoil a good story with truth do they?

All I see is a kerfuffle where a numpty who can't load/ride a scoot
clumsily struggles to get past cars in ancient streets in over crowded
over priced Cornish shithole.

Tourists, probably on edge after 12 hour drives and being rooked by locals find outlet in righteous outrageface
guy shits himself and even more clumsily scratches someones leg
with wicker basket whilst trying to flee the lynch mob.

meh

You can go drag it out of the comments on the original post on FB if you like pal, im not spending half my night trowling through that drivel.5K comments on it now was only a few hundred yesterday.

Hundreds of dickheads commenting on it now arguing over if people were bullying the guy who just committed multiple hit and runs in a row. Laughing

But one thing i have been told is the guys name is Alan, hes a busker in the town and has been for at least 20 years. He was not drunk, wasnt on drugs isnt homeless and does not have mental issues.
The bike is taxed MOT and insured tho AskMID had it listed as not being yesterday ?.

That seems pretty clear cut to me, guy damaged vehicles. Didnt want to deal with the fall out of that / associated insurance raping from damaging expensive cars and tried to do one.

You made the claim and I don't use failbook Wink It was insured when I checked yesterday, I assumed the uninsured comments were an assumption (unless they all misuse MIB).

Hmm why would he lie about not having insurance when he does... or at least the vehicle does Thinking Unless fake plate or the previous owner left the policy running.

You not been to Cornwall? Stupidity runs rife, mix it with hooray toffs and it'll keep you entertained forever.

It is not a criminal offence to have an accident. However, is it not a criminal offence to try to escape from the place of an accident? Is it not an offence to use a vehicle as a weapon? Is it not an offence intentionally spreading debris on the streets?
And he was driving in pedestrianised area as well.
What the passers-by tried to do - does it not fall into an attempt of a citizens arrest? If yes, then people did not apply reasonable force - not enough to stop him from escaping

Any force short of terminal would be unreasonable in this case.

As I was scooting to St Ives
I collided with an M5
Seven locals tried to stop me
Every local had seven wives
Every wife had seven fingers
Scooters, locals, wives, M5's
Don't bother going near St Ives

Still no photo-evidence of any damage, and now this,
Quote:
“He had offloaded one of his panniers on his usual bucking pitch by the lifeboat station when a car went past and scraped it. The driver got out and sucker-punched him in the eye. He did what the police have always advised him to do and took off.

Seems he was a well-known local and a "gentle soul". Lynch mob mentality, I reckon. Someone accuses him of damaging a car and there he is, squeezing past a row of them, so now the passers-by assume it's those cars and they're witnessing the event. He looks a bit odd so "Geddim!" How much damage could a wicker basket do anyway?

Mens rea isn't required for civil claims, only negligence.

Jake Swordy and Jade Brooker gave direct eyewitness accounts.

Here, you can go ahead and call Jake a liar. Please do let us know how that works out for you.

No need. Unless the cars healed themselves there ought to be photographic proof of the damaged metal. There's a video record of everything but the supposed multiple collisions, and the lynch mob said there was video of that. Where is it? I don't care what the enthusiastic videographer imagines he might have seen.

Someone on the video is making a statement that the scooter rider scratched his car. I believe someone else also says that the scooterist damaged his car. These are legal statements from independent sources. That’s the evidence, forensics will come later.
The scooterist also says that he does not have insurance, so he is committing a criminal offence by driving without having a valid insurance. So, he damaged someone else’s property, does not want to take liability for the damage and claims he is driving illegally, it is enough for a citizens arrest
I see that several reasonably looking people trying to stop him, they use force only when he tries to commit another serious offence, that’s driving over a pedestrian. And the crowd uses very limited force. Was the scooterist scared? Do you think being in panic justifies ploughing people with your vehicle, do you think you can thus defend your action? Of course not - being in a wrong state of mind is not a form of a defence, any terrorist is in the wrong state of mind.
The scooter rider got into a reasonable safety and had to wait for police. Driving dangerously in a crowded area because he is scared also won’t form a defence - he could kill people and, in fact, hit a pedestrian.

Have you called Jake Swordy a liar yet?

A grown man would say it to his facebook rather than behind his back.
