Hi guys,

Just a quick post to check a couple of things that are up with my left footrest hanger/gear linkage.

The first thing is that I have quite a lot of free play between the footpeg mount and the hanger. I can rotate the footpeg mount perhaps 5 to 10 degrees when it is sitting within the footpeg mount. The odd thing is there doesn't appear to be substantial wear to either the socket on the hanger, or the footpeg mount. This footpeg has in the past rotated to a point where it could be potentially dangerous. I could shift my weight to the point where the footpeg would flip towards the rear of the bike, rather than flipping upwards as it should. I fixed this in the past with a shim, but feel like i'd probably rather it just worked properly. My current "fix" is to hold the footpeg in the correct position, then fully tighten the bolt that holds the footpeg in place. I suspect this is not safe though, as the bolt can and will loosen up and rotate the footpeg.

The other thing to ask is, I have slight freeplay in the balljoint mount on my gear shifter. I can rotate the ball end within the gear shifter mount, as well as some slight side to side movement. Is this normal, or should it be held tightly? (note this is not free play in the actual balljoint, but the point where it is mounted to my shifter).

Thank you for your help.
