Hello
Doing headstock bearings for mate's scooter. Sorted it in the end with a 32mm spanner but life could of been so much easier if I had a socket that fitted deep enough! Are these an oddball nut or can I get a socket that fits? The ones I found are too shallow.

Honda sell one (part number for my SH300 is in the workshop manual). I just use a big spanner, like you. Has the significant advantage that you can loosen / adjust / tighten without needing to take the handlebars off, and steering head bearings often need a bit of tightening after they've bedded in.
07916KM10000 is the part number, described as headset locknut wrench. Quite expensive, spanner was much cheaper. ____________________ Bikes: S1000R, SH350; Exes: Vity 125, PS125, YBR125, ER6f, VFR800, Brutale 920, CB600F, SH300x4

Cheers Barkell, I asked since it would of avoided the need to take off so many plastics. I had to take the front inner panel off just so there was enough clearance for the spanner haha. That was another 2 hours unnecessary work...sigh. ____________________ Honda H100S2 Rebuild - https://www.bikechatforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=253852 |
