I hav`nt been out on a bike for a while now.
So I decided to make the effort to get out.

Wednesday night is bike night at Great Bentley (Essex).
so out came the smelly old Superdream and off I went.

The ride there from my house is 28 miles, just enough not to scare my old bike but far enough to clear a few cob-webs.
In the summer a good few bikes get there.

The plod were conspicuous by their absence tonight.
No trouble and the only nobber was an L-plater on a highly tuned two smoke, popping wheelies along the road.
I have to say that it sounded crisp and it appeared to be very responsive Smile .

Could`nt get a cup of tea as there were just to many at the burger van.
I ended up with a bottle of beer , how sad Wink

There were some very nice bits of kit there and the Kawasaki 750 triples were particularly handsome.
I also spotted a nice little RD 250 that took my fancy.

Mine wasn't the only poopydream there tonight

I spoke to the owner of this one and his bike has the same problems as mine.
His bike was a bit tidier than mine, but I wont lose any sleep over that.

Why don't any of the mighty BCF ever go to Great Bentley?
I know that there`s not a lot to do there but look at other peoples bikes and have a burger and a beer, but BCF`ers could meet up there?

I live about 1 mile away and ive been about twice in the 6 years I've had a bike. Nothing is more boring than standing in a field looking at the same bike you own but ridden by somebody else.

Well I guess my evening would of been a shit evening for you then Rolling Eyes
Me? personally I have a thing for standing around in fields.

I`m guessing that you didn't read my post to closely then?
standing in the field talking to the owner of the other Superdream was only part of my night.
I went for a burger and a cup of tea and to see what else was about.
I also had a chat with a couple of faces I know.

Silly me! I could of cooked a burger at home and made a cup of tea at home.
Silly me! if I wanted to look at bikes I could of gone on the net at home.
I know Why don't I get rid of my bikes and never go out on them again!

So sorry you find my mediocre post about Great Bentley so boring.
I`ll try and make my next post more exciting and about tales of how my bike is a super-turbo-nutter with extra shiny bits and how I was chased by the plod at speeds of hundreds of mph.

It wasnt meant like that. i personally just don't like bike meets. You get the occasional bit of rare or awesome machinery but mostly its just the same bikes you see everyday. If you enjoyed the ride there and had fun then good for you.

Is anyone here a regular at Great Bentley bike meet (or at least been a fair few times)? It's only around the corner from me and want to know if its worth a trip over when my bike is back in one piece! Smile

Been up there a couple of times since this thread first started.
It didn’t seem as busy as it used to be.
You still get a good few bikes up there on a sunny evening.
So I guess if you are out and about, it’s somewhere to be for an hour.

Nice, I'll have to check it out when I've got my NSR rolled out onto the tarmac again (just waiting on a fuel filter then I've got a good few hundred miles of breaking in the new top end Crying or Very sad ).

I'm new to this area as I grew up in the Northamptonshire countryside when I had my last bike so it'd be nice to find out where the nice roads are round here! Really like the Thorpe le Soken to Harwich road though, B1414 I think!

Old Thread Alert!

The last post was made 5 years, 282 days ago. Instead of replying here, would creating a new thread be more useful?
