Hi. I’m totally new to the biking world and can’t actually ride yet but that is a task for another day.

Recently bought a 1995 Suzuki Bandit 400 it needs quite a bit of work to get it to a rideable condition but,I bought it to have something to work on in my free time.
I’m reasonably confident with my abilities to put it together but I would prefer to find a reliable source of info on the bike, like a workshop manual or someone who has experience with this bike rather than go in blind.

Form what I have read so far it seems that it is a very similar bike to the bandit 600, but given my inexperience I want to check up on every avenue of info I can.

Thanks for any help you can provide

The Bandit 400 is actually a water cooled engine similar to the GSXR400 and not at all like the oil cooled 600 lump.

Poor starting is a common ailment. If it's been standing a long time then you'll need to give the carbs a thorough service and possibly change out the ridiculous small sized spark plugs.

This sparsely populated site may be worth looking at.

Engine is basically the same as the GK73A GSXR restricted by cams, downpipes and ecu. The carbs will need ultrasonic cleaning and viton rubber bits https://litetek.co/Carb_Kit_Suzuki_GSF400.html

Check the emulsion tubes and needles, they wear out to the point where it’s impossible to get good fuelling and / or the needles can snap.

Download the English language manual that is lurking online.

Massive thanks for the resources provided here, proving to be just what I needed to get familiar with the bike.
Still stripping it down so I can rebuild from ground up. Lots of part shopping and cleaning ahead.
The carb advice was great thanks.
