Is it really an instant ban, or is this more bs news?
When they say "immediate prohibition" do they just mean they stopped him riding it home? I'm getting bored of all these over stated headlines.

Well he could have been banned/licence revoked under the new drivers act maybe?

3 points for running a red light
3 points for a defective tyre

So 6.

He may also have got x6 points for the tyre front and back too as the article says tyres.

On the vehicle, not the rider. Dredd can't "ban" you on the spot. Tut Tut

Fake news! Very bad! KILL 'EM ALL.

FFS.

99% of journalists would struggle to do up their own fucking shoelaces.

I never look at my car tyres.

It's usually at the MOT when they take me to one side, cuddle me, and bill me for £500.

I'm sure that offences that occur at the same time are still treated as concurrent for totting up purposes.

You'd only have 3 points for totting up from your example above but you would need to declare all the convictions to insurance.

But he still wouldn't have been banned 'at the roadside'

Dangerous condition and PG9 prohibition.
Get it recovered, fixed and verified at MOT station. Ride away.

Probably a fixed penalty notice, probably points, I'd given up on the shit journalism by then. But no way banned there and then.

The fpn/endorsable ticket is an offer by the po-po to have things dealt with outside of Court. No penalties apply immediately as you can still request a Court hearing.

The vehicle could easily be seized as not fit for road use.
Normal to do that.
Rider may be banned in court on totting up if he has enough points.
The article was a useless page turner and the hack who wrote it should be banned from journalisting.
