Hello, BCF
I have bought and been riding year 2005 Honda cb919 for two months now. Absolutely in love with this beast.

Just seems to be a little problem here. Hopefully someone can help me out with this one

So I did an oil and oil filter change (have done it to other motorcycles in the past 10+ times, problem free) and after that went for a short ride. All fine, no leaks. Next day went for a 250 mile ride, and after that noticed that the surface all around the oil filter seal has a little bit of oily condensation, like a very small bit of oil has been seeping through all around the filter while riding (check pictures), no drips or leaks though.

So at first I thought it wast just the excess oil that I put around the filter gasket for better seal, escaping, so I wiped it down. Also tightened it a bit more with filter wrench, at first it was hand tight. Then went for some smaller rides through the city, no problems, then went for a longer ride again, same problem happened again. But no leaks and drips on the floor and while riding it also does not drip cause I have a spoiler under the headers and its also dry. Oil level also staying constant.

So after this I thought the filter must be defective, and decided for a new oil/oil filter change again.
Took off the old filter and inspected the gasket - did not seem defective in any way, also the filter mating surface on the motor is perfectly straight, no dents or anything.
I put in new oil and oil filter. And basically the same thing repeatedly happened again on longer rides.

Like I said there are no leaks, just this condensation type looking thing. And oil level is not dropping.
My main concern is that if a little bit of oil can get through the seal, then some road dirt and dust can get through the seal inside the motor as well. Do you think I must be concerned and hopefully have any explanations why this is happening and how should I go further about this problem.

Huge Thank You in advance

Did you oil the o-ring before fitting? You should. I've always done them hand tight and never had one leak (except for the time I accidentally left the old o-ring stuck to the gasket surface).

It's definitely coming from the filter seal, not tracking/blowing to there from somewhere else?

Yes,oiled the seal and took off the old one. Definitely from the seal, everything around is dry.

Its actually really weird how does this process happen, cause it has this oily condensation type looking stuff all around the filter seal, but none of the oil has managed to go past like 5mm from the seal and none has dripped down, even after 300+ mile rides. It is possible to see it in the picture.

Looks sort of like the oil has been seeping through a little bit bit while driving, making the oil gasket area dirty, but then been sucked back into the filter. Of coarse that is not possible. Weird right?

I'd try nipping the filter up a bit tighter.

Did you clean the mating surface on the crankcase before you installed the filter?
