A black HONDA Pan-European was stolen in Manchester, around Withington area, Postcode M20.

It's whole black, has Polish register plates, two luggage boxes on sides, and a light reflecting sticker on right front head lights (to pass MOT)

If anyone is driving through Manchester and happen to see riding or lying on a side road the bike, or has any suggestions on how to find the thieves, please leave a comment or PM me.

I am attaching a picture of the ride. Thank you

Based on his description of panniers I'd guess he's Polish.

But why is a bike that's passed what I presume is a UK MOT still on Polish plates?

Maybe he thinks MOT means to be road worthy, or compliant. I'm not sure what the reflecting sticker is doing though. I know that us Brits with our left side beam up kick need to redirect that to not dazzle oncoming foreigners when we drive on the wrong side of the road, but I thought Johnny foreigner had a flat beam.
It is bit of a puzzler.
Anyway, I haven't seen the bike in Portsmouth or Bournemouth.

The ironic thing is, it will probably end up in a container bound for the place it's got the license plate for!

Trying to avoid UK VED at a guess, have to wonder how his insurance sees this, providing it does actually have insurance. Or, if not, simply claim the theft on your insurance, job done !!

I have bought the bike from polish family, it had to pass the MOT in order to register it with UK plates, hence the light sticker. It focuses light just on the left side of the road.
I wanted to register it and insure, but I didn't even had a chance as it was taken away. All I had was a drive test with it and that is it.

Could you please spread the word and keep an I out even if you are not around of Manchester? Who knows how far those people are transporting stolen bikes

Kind Regards,

Sounds like it got nicked before you got your bike security sorted out.
Ouch! shame.
You have informed the police I assume? as it may turn up if you're very lucky.

Sorry to hear that it was stolen so quickly. Have you looked in the previous owner's shed?

Seems to be an organised gang doing the rounds of Manchester, Bookface has three more incidents reported this morning, all high end stuff.

Maybe they kept a spare key and stole it back from you?

It was parked on possessions designated parking spot in Withington area. It had a break clamp, and was stolen before I managed to get proper securing accessories, UK registry plates and insurance

No, I know the people, and they wouldn't be able to do it. Besides, they weren't aware where to look for it

That is horrible... I wish the police actually did something about that, rather then just give most of them a warning

Ah, right that's fair enough. I only considered this as it seemed like you had the bike for a very short time.

Then again, if I was a thief going to do this, I'd wait longer to avoid getting caught.

I subscribe to a stolen motorbike facebook group and saw a post today about a number of motorbikes recovered in Manchester including a Pan European in the picture posted. Search for the group and you should be able to find it.

Could you please send a link to the group and specific post of the found bike? I already belong to 2 of such groups and I haven't seen any Pan-European on them and I can imagine that there are plenty more Wink

Yeah sorry that was a different Pan European also stolen in Manchester. It has a UK plate and not a Polish one.
