Save the money, buy a house.
Buy new bike after first mortgage payment and feel like a G.
Biggest thing I regret is not getting a house sorted sooner
Failing that, don't buy a Honda, bland as a tart.
Test the Panigale torture deathrack, I found it far too cramped.
Then, when you've exhausted all options, buy something you like... that isn't the above.
I'll be honest, I'm bored of the GSXR, I really miss my Triple. 1000cc sports gets boring, regardless of how much you tell yourself, it does get dull as shit. |

Ahh, the youth of today
Lets not use the extra money to pay off our debts, use it to rent a bigger bike instead ____________________ Current Bike: Honda CG125 ES4 // Honda CB600FS Hornet // Triumph Street Triple R |

The 600RR is a really decent bike to "put up with" for a while. It's not like you're riding a hack.
If I was in your situation, I would:
1. Pay off 100% of your debt.
2. Don't go into debt again to buy toys (PCP)
3. If you want to change the bike, sell your CBR and try buy the next bike in cash.
This is coming from someone that perhaps previously didn't have the best priorities.
The other thing to note. You mentioned saving for a deposit. Depending on the return you can get for your savings, you may be better off using that to pay off your debt first. Then again, if you have a lifetime ISA, then you'd need to have an APR of >25% on your debt, or take longer than a year to pay it off to benefit from doing this. Also doesn't take into consideration any early repayment fees. |
I should be able to clear most of my remaining debt with the next paypacket (july 13th ). that will feel good to finally be in the black. I've been in £10k debt (loan) since I was 18. Made a bad decision r.e gambling. too long a story for here and im not a sob story person.
With the exception of the PCP that is, however if i want i can just give them the bike back and be 'actually' debt free (but id have no bike and the 600RR is, like you say, a bloody good bike).
I have a help to buy which im putting the max away each month in , as well as putting some spare,
I guess i just felt like treating myself. Though in hindsight i dont have it too bad afterall. ____________________ Honda cg125 J reg peice of shit ---> CB650F ---> 2016 CBR600RR

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another. |

Indeed.
Trying to save for house but says its a few years off, yet has a bike on PCP and also a Scooby track car going by his signature.
Priorities... |
Wish I'd have done it that way around. I got married and bought a house, and by the time I got enough money back in the pot to do anything interesting with it I was too old and bloody sensible. |
@ arry - not sure I agree. I got married late-ish (38) after frittering my life away down the ale-house. 15 years later I have 3 kids and the wife has buggered off with a (former) friend.. and I've another 10 years until the youngest is 18 all in all I wish I done it earlier. That way when she buggers off you'll still have some youthful energy to do stuff.
Not sure I'd actually marry in 'AshWebster's' situ but having kids earlier is probably no bad thing even if you're telling yourself now 'but I don't want them - ever'.. On the other hand do what you want, but remember it goes quicker than you think.. ____________________ Now: A100, GT250A, XJ598, FZ750

i have listened to the mighty BCF gospel (though i do have a mind of my own ) and decided to let my PCP run its course and decide at the end.
i think my next bike will be based on sound. which is why i liked the Panigale so much. the il4 sound is only great when you're overtaking someone at xxxmph
i will however be sticking with PCP as it allows me to use my savings (help to buy) to get a house in the very near future. if not i wouldnt be able to have a decent bike. what i will probably be doing is either keeping the bike and continuing to pay a similar ppm or trading in for a slightly older nice sounding bike without adding anything on to the pcp. (if anything taking money off since 600RR are actually going up in value).
thanks again BCF crew ____________________ Honda cg125 J reg peice of shit ---> CB650F ---> 2016 CBR600RR
