That tyre is squared off and beyond bald, ride it and you might get a nasty painful surprise. |
Riding that would be stupid, not because it is square or balding, only becuase it is cracking and likely to fail.
Ordered. I do like these. Current one is upto 4k but is starting to show excessive cracking so will be swapped early. Still perfectly soft, grippy and plenty of tread left.

Had the Enfield booked in for its MOT, so I:
Tracked down the latest oil leak. Gearbox, just needed a bolt done up, didn't require stripping the primary off this time.
Binned the joke Czech-made Mitas rubber on the rear. Dead in under 3,000 miles, not fit for road use.
Lost the main hanger bolt from new shouty end can to vibrations, replaced.
Lost the lens from the rear light, lulled at the price, replaced the unit with a retro chrome one from the Bits Box.
Got everything spot on, ship shape and Bristol fashion. Even flicked a rag at it.
Cheeky fecker gave me an advisory for a slack chain.
For his edification, I pointed out the bizarre primitive idiomatic adjustment mechanism...

... and noted that with it on the next notch, the chain was drum tight with weight on the bike, as I'd found when carefully adjusting it last night.
Still got the advisory. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.

rode it 100+ miles with the replacement engine and all the work i've done to it
timing and replacing cam chains
spraying indicator plastics
VHT wrinkle red on all the engine casings,
Braided clutch line
tinted indicators
replacing starter motors
bearing replacements
the list goes on.
It didn't blow up.
so as it turns out, i have gained some mechanical skill over the last few years. |

Got them delivered.
Delkevic can on the '96 already has my neighbours pissed off. Ex instructor bike, so most of it's many miles have been babied. She gets up and boogies if you give her some.
Parts bike will be getting parted unless someone wants her as-is smartish.
