Anyone know of any other commonly used replacements, or failing that, a pinout for them so I can see what I've got that'll do until I can get a MOSFET replacement? I have a few SH640D's kicking around, but I need a pinout to confirm they'll work for a few days.

Hondas of anywhere round that era (and in fairness, from the early 70's upwards) use the same wire colours on their reg/recs.

Three yellows to alternator phases.

Green is earth.

Red to battery (permanant live).

Black or white on black to switched live.

If there is more than one green or red, they are just fucking with you. They all go to the same place.

I have a CBR6 one fitted to my '91 VFR750

EDIT: So what do you have kicking about? If I can find a circuit diagram for it, I'll fast tell you how to hook it up.

I know on a ZX6R the three alternator phases are black. The live is Blue on black, the switched live is red on black and the earth is white on black. I have one of these fitted to my enfield.

I definitely have SH640D's. I'm going looking for the others tonight.

There seem to be several sub-types of those. I'm not totally convinced they all have the same pinout order.

I beat the shit out of metal for a living, it's dirty. Getting a reg/rec out of a 20yr old bike is dirty. - Deal with it.
