I posted a long time ago about issues i was having with the gearbox sprocket, couldn't find a new one and could i get the teeth re-welded back on.
Well several months later, i've had a new ring of teeth welded onto the original sprocket boss, the gearbox rebuilt, new crank, bearings conrod, piston, ignition and a few other parts.
I had to get a modern carb as the old brass one was just too badly worn and now it runs just fine, perhaps a little rich but i'll fiddle with the carb to sort that out.

Yesterday i took it for its first ride, probably the first time its been on the road since Hitler was holidaying in France.
Its a bit different to my ZX6 and i'll probably need a new helmet more suited to the bike.
I'm looking forward to enjoying this weather at a more sedate pace over the next few weeks.

Thank you, no idea all i know is that there is another non runner thats been badly hand painted at some point in its life that lives down south, and another 1 in New Zealand both from 1931.
And a running 1932 version in Scotland that has the wrong gearbox and other parts.
This model was only made for 2yrs, the VMCC directory list 2 others but 1 has the wrong engine and the other is 1929.
So possibly 5 left with this one being the most original (regarding factory fitted parts).
Ive no real idea of what its worth, being rare doesn't add value despite what some people on ebay think.
It wont be for sale in the near future as i want to ride it, plus i fancy keeping it till at least 2031, the idea of having a 100yr old bike has an appeal to me.

A great resto job there mate! It looks brilliant and quite solid too. Stuff like the mudguard stays look like they are made from a decent gauge of steel, unlike a Jap lightweight where a bit of pressed tin will do. Is it a Villiers or a Jap engine in this bike, and have you got any specs for it at all?

The mudguard stays are 4mm thick, back then the pillion seat would have just been bolted straight onto the mudguard.
Villiers engine 2E 196cc.
The bike cost £24 17s 6d when new (£24.88 in today's money) plenty of optional extras when new, but the person the bought mine didnt get any of them
