Has anyone tried the £2.49 tape from Screwfix: https://bit.ly/2LdIBED or £4.98 tape from Toolstation: https://www.toolstation.com/shop/p55262 ?
This for wiring loom repair (instruments/front lights back to under the tank). Also interested in observations re oil resistance if you have tried either. |

Self amalgamating is superb stuff. Every toolkit should have at least one roll of it.
I've used it for electrical repairs, sealing HT lead ends into plug caps, loom wrap, insulating screwdrivers, making soft handles for tools...
You get the idea. It's as cheap as chips and versatile. Buy some. |

Nooo... horrible stuff ... keep it out of your toolbox!
Not sure where my roll has gone, but pretty sure it ingested a good number of tools and bits before I removed it from a box of useful things!

Self amalgamating is good but wo t last on a bike, oil or prolonged medium temperatures will make it rot/split. I prefer this www.ebay.co.uk/itm/222609657891 Have not tried sillicone tape but that would have the temperature and oil resistance needed for bike stuff.. |
