Hi just after some experienced advice. I know the best practice of new disc= new pads so they wear in together and you don't trash a nice new disc.

But would anyone risk fitting a new disc and re-use pads that have done at the most 200miles, but probably alot less on an old disc that was just thin, but not warped?

Cost isn't an issue with this bike, I've spent ridiculous money on an 1/8 litre bike, so I'm not scared of buying another set of pads if need be, but do people think they'll be OK as 200miles isn't much and as I said the old disc wasn't badly damaged, just thin?

I've done it before and it was fine.

Hell I've reused pads that were contaminated with oil and that too was fine... but then again I didn't exactly have any choice as I was in the middle of nowhere Very Happy

I've also done this, just once, no problems.

I would use a new chain on old sprockets Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked

As with anything like this, do a few common sense checks. Ignore the fact that the pads aren't new, are there any other reasons why the pads need to be replaced.

are they contaminated with oil?
do they have score marks on?
are they of appropriate thickness?
have they glazed?
