So I’ve been told I need to procure 4 adult tickets for Alton Towers early next week...

Haven’t been in years, but ISTR that you should only ever be paying half price for an adult ticket, right? (cornflakes packet offers etc?).

Anyone know how I can score some cheap tickets in short order?

Top tip: find some nearby drunken chavs with screeching children having a barbecue, queue outside their back gate for 3 hours, pay them £6 for a warm Pepsi and a cold hot dog, then smash your kneecaps with a sledgehammer.

Thanks a lot Paddy - that link was very helpful... the only Kellogs product in Tesco with the offer on was some god-awful-looking conconction called Krave; so as recomended by Martin "money tips" Lewis I went with 4 x 90p packs of Carex hand gel, which at least might get used.

So now all I have to do is go to Alton bloody Towers for the day...

You might want to invest in the "jump the queue" tickets when you arrive, so you actually get a chance of going on the rides - not cheap tho

Hmm.
Actually, somebody told me that it's much less busy these days since that accident a couple of years ago. Am doubtful about that though.

We always go in October near Halloween as kids are 'meant' to be back in school and you can do every ride by lunch time. We've never paid full price for tickets either through their own promotions or even from newspapers.

Has been quieter since the 'incident' though.

I know of a bit of a dirty way to get free queue jump tickets all day, I don't really condone it but I did benefit from it once.

went to one of the big theme parks with a friend, we get in and he stomps off to customer services straight away and comes back with 4 queue jump passes.

Turns out he suffers from anxiety specifically in tight spaces full of people and has a "doctors" note to prove it, he gets a free pass and so does the full group as his carers.

apparently he gets away with this everywhere.

I presume the queue jump passes are a bit better than Ryan Airs version which everyone gets so it's no shorter anyway. Evil or Very Mad

I think with the Carex handwash deal you actually have to hand over the bottle on site when you buy your tickets; and you couldn't use them for buying online.

We ended up going Pepperami and bought online tickets as it was pointed out to that that way you avoid the first queue of the day, actually buying the entry tickets. (Probably saved me at least 2 mins in the end...)

I've not been in 20 years, but that was definitely my last visit to that place. I am so too old for that shit now... Shocked

If you don't have children.... Find one to take..

Go to customer services when you arrive and ask for parent passes.

One person queues and gets the pass stamped... The other "parent" gets to go straight on as if it's a queue jump. Smile Child goes on both times. Happy child - happy adult that doesn't have to queue!
