So i bought a pulse scout 50cc and it works fine however i derestricted it by cutting the pink wire and got up to 40mph then the belt snapped. so i replaced the belt and it’s kinda working fine but i want to rerestrict it because it just feels a we bit dodgy. I was trying to put the wires back together and i realised i don’t have enough wire.

Now i don’t know much about electronics and stuff but i’m guessing i can just use normal copper wire to join them together.

Is this correct or do i have to buy some special stuff.

So you're asking a question like this but have no qualms about snipping wires? Shocked Hmm.......have a think about it.

Just any wire of a similar thickness will do.

Most modern motorcycles will use thinwall cable which has a multistrand copper core.

If it's for electronics, it needn't be particularly thick.

I would suggest using crimps to join it. These should be applied with the correct crimping tool.

A solder splice with shrinktube over the top is also appropriate.

Twisting them together then wrapping them in PVC tape or screwing them into a chocblock type connector is not ok on vehicle wiring. It WILL fail.
