Hi,

Quickest way, upload them to imgur - https://imgur.com

Post the link it gives you here. Interested to see this moped.

I like to host the images someone else, like imgur. Then just copy the address of the image into your post. Highlight it and click the "Img" button.
If you do use Imgur, you're given the option to copy the link and the bbcode needed.

Uncle had a penchant for latin tiddlers twenty years ago, when they introduced the scrap-it-or-tax it regime in Italy, and they came over by the crate load.

This is one I have not heard of, and neither it seems has google, other than some-one advertising a barn clearance of them in Cornwall... you, or who you got it from?

But what would you like to know about it and why?

Of the ones we had in the shed; they tended to be so simple that they weren't hard to figure out without a workshop manual... in fact probably easier than trying to fix a common as muck Moto-Guzzi V50, and wondering whether or not to actually believe the work-shop manual, after painstakingly getting Brummie "Chris the Wop's" sister in law to try translate the thing! and wondering whether to ask her very very nicely to translate the 'parts list' and 'revisions' and the little disclaimer at the bottom, that probably says in latin, "All schematics are fictitious and any resemblance to parts broken or missing, is entirely co-incidental" Laughing Oh, welcome to the world of old wops, BTW... if you weren't mad before, prepare to joint the club!

Do NOT have any nieve hope of believing that the thing is like a Ford Escort, and if you know the make, model and year, you will be able to order parts by that alone, from any-one.... Just ask a Ducati owner how often they get what they hope for! And that's for a machine in the current catalogs!

If you DO have a lucky moment and dome-one does offer a part you want... be prepared to be shocked... "That's the Lira Price... Right?!" often wasn't! Then you feint when some-one says "Well, no, its only £18... its the same part as fitted to the BMW R65.. they just dont tell any-one!"

But, as said, most of its likely pretty rudimentary; metalwork you can renovate like a garden gate with wire brush and paint; electrics? Italians are notoriouse for.... wires change colour half way down a sleeve... often more than once.... BUT these little mopeds tend to have simple magneto ignition with make-to-kill feed off the coil, that's often in the mag housing. The rest is just a couple of bits of bell-wire to the headlamp and tail lamp... common sense and a multi-meter are your allies. Motor? Bearings, there's probably only three; can be bought by internal and external diameter and width; likewise crank case seals. Piston rings are more problematic, but go to a rebore specialist, they should be able to sort it out, again by diameter and width. Exhausts are more nigglesome; they dont come off the shelf; two-stroke oil tends to help stop them rot, but getting creative with the oxy kit and braze to salvage what you got 'old-skool' style is likely the way to go. And so on and so on; its old skool restoration, and craft skills, make do and mend, 1950's style; not a modern check-book resto job.

After that, the fun is getting UK registration; begs a dating letter from appropriate authority; you will likely have to join the Italian-Motorcycle-Owners club to be eligible to get them to do a dating letter for you... and they will likely ask for recent colour photo's of the actual bike in question, not pictures of half rusted wreck.

Then you need to get the bike insured, and MOT'd on the VIN number, and can THEN fill forms and apply to DVLA for UK registration as a personal import; for which a VOSA ident check may be required.

End result is a moped, thats still a moped; doesn't require tax, and possibly now not another MOT.. no-one will still have heard of, and is probably not worth the money you spenbt to get it registered, let alone what you sunk into restoring it... but hey... its not as expensive as fishing!!! All good Fun!

Unc.. imagine Hagrid on a Velo-solex... (actually had one or two of them at one point too! Mad-bugga!) rode one of his to the Bulldog, many milenia ago, a 35cc Moto-Guzzi trotter... curious little thing with a draw handle on the frame a two speed gearbox and no suspension?!?!?

He carried it by the handle around the show with him, and decided to visit the MGOC stand, to renew his membership... "So what Moto-Guzzi do you ride?" asked a show attendant..... he actually had about three, ISTR including a rather nice low miles V50 Monza... but answered "At the moment? This one!" and lifted it onto the table! Causing much consternation, as none of the stand team believed it was actually a Moto-Guzzi... it didn't have enough cylinders where the rider's knee's want to be!

Did I say you don't NEED to be mad to mess with Wop-Peds, BTW? But, err, yes... it helps!

So what do you want to know, and why?

If it's "Is it valuable?" The answer is 'No'... they just aren't!!!

Borrowed photo's from the original e-bay add for the one in Cornwall... your's?

Right click to 'Copy Image Address'; pasted onto browser window, then highligted before clicking the ]IMG[ button.... Help any?

PS if you won that auction for £186.... you are probably very well qualified to tackle a Wop-Ped project!

Yep that's the one
I'm not really that bothered about value I brought it
Cause I liked it and have been after a ped for awhile
To get around campsites andvvillage where I live etc when away with the family
Something the kids can ride with out to much worry
I'm trying to find out the age etc so I can register it correctly
(Might as well as it'll be peanuts to insure no not etc etc
Cleaned the carb out and now it runs like a dream
It's missing the twist throttle but got one in the post that should do the job
I'm away camping so will try to get some more pictures and a clip of it running this weekend

Thanks for all the advice so far

Wow wasn't expecting that much of an answer
I'm really just after finding out the info to get the little thing
Registered don't really want a q plate and have to mot it ever yesr
I've been down the registration road a good few times with vw's and more recently with some yank cars
It won't ever need an mot now if bikes are the same as cars
I'm not really going to restore it either wash it and wipe it with an oily rag is about all it'll get
It's now a running and driving bike all the lights and horn work
So that'll do me

Errr.... 'Patina'.. yeah, I get it.... but that not patina... DAT RUST!

Remember, it may be MOT exempt, but, its NOT exempt MOT requirements; its just your responsibility to ensure the vehicle is "Road-Worthy"... and I believe that there's pretty big penalties for using MOT test exemption to use 'defective' vehicle on the road....

And plod see that putter through the village? What do you think his first suspicions will be... then what his first question will be?

I'd expect that to be a tugg-magnet ridden as is; plod will assume its local kids found something in the canal, out for a joy-ride; then after putting down the donut and breaking into a brisk trot to chase you, lots of mobile-phone traffic to traffic, to check the regs, more to the resident C&U expert over whether minimum tread depth applies to a moped.. all the while, if covered in oil, grumbles of "Well I don't want to touch it!"

But your call....

Dat tank be rusty... if you like the way it looks and don't want to paint it, fine... but if outside of tank dat rusty, how rusty be inside.... and how long till rust clogs carb?

Far too many restorations are only ever done skin-deep pretty-ing up the painted bits; the real work is in making the mechanics good, and the devil is in the detail, not just pumping up the tyres and cleaning the points.....

That Mobylette I sorted for a guy recently was a case in point.
Bright and shiny, but the POs technical nous left a lot to be desired.

so it is the rusty one! Laughing
there's its name right there.

I'd happily get it mechanically sorted paint it with oil and run it as a shitter too as an antidote to the obsessive garage queen brigade.
Among other things
I'd probably get a meter of light chain and some diesel and do a cocktail waiter thing with the tank then fit a fuel filter
