We're in Latchi (Cyprus) for a short holiday from holiday Thinking Thinking Wasted

Just checked into our room to find our sea view interrupted by this......

https://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2017/02/06/13/3CE4A36900000578-4195730-image-a-69_1486386217426.jpg

A quick google tells that it's a £360million super yacht owned by a Russian.

See here......

https://www.google.co.uk/amp/www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-4195730/amp/Incredible-360m-Sailing-Yacht-delivered-owner.html

It's got a helipad, a glass pod on the bottom(snigger) and those masts are 300 feet tall.

Ive just got one thing to say. Pipe me aboard приятель 😎

They used to spy from trawlers.

Wonder if they are just hiding in plain sight?

Sitting on the balcony now looking at that "yacht", at anchor all lit up, it has to be the most James Bondesque thing I have ever seen! Shocked
The picture TSK has used does not convey how big it is!
It's HUGE, as in MASSIVE!

In my mind's eye I imagine the owner in a leather chair, stroking a white cat they're on the vodka and cigars now, to be followed by a few rounds of Chemin de fer then some coke and hookers!

In true 007 stylee, I'm expecting it to disappear in a massive fireball sometime during the night. Wink

There is actually a small launch patrolling round it at all times.

Anyway, not my thing really, I'm more of a hollowed out volcano type of a guy!

Bond Villain alert

Quote:
Over a period of two months in 2016, the Environmental Investigation Agency tracked shipments of teak logged in Burmese forests to the German Naval Yards in Kiel, where A was being fitted out. On March 14, 2017, after the yacht had exited German waters, the public prosecutor of Kiel warranted a search of the shipyard that confirmed the presence of timber samples that violated European Union Timber Regulations. Subsequently Nobiskrug confirmed to the prosecutor that the teak had been used as decking on the yacht but did not confirm knowledge of its illegal sourcing."

Marine diesel is around $550 per tonne and I would guess that a super yacht would carry about a 1000 tonnes so thats half a million quid.

I expect Roman's boat is no run of the mill super yacht though Laughing

I saw that one in Dartmouth a few years back, it is also fucking huge and appeared to swallow up the river. The naval frigates that parked up in the middle of the river on regatta weeks seemed small by comparison (A type 23 is 100' shorter but about the same length as Sid's new vista!)

In my limited experience of yachts, a beast like that is a surefire way to ensure that you never have 'too much money'.

Always remember kids, if it flies, floats or fornicates, rent it by the hour...

That's advice for the millionaire paupers - billionaires don't bother with such trivialities.
