It's a DNS issue for sure. On the clients, from a command prompt, type ipconfig /all
What is the IP of the DHCP and DNS servers, is it the router or the server itself or a mix of the two?
If the router is issuing the IP addresses, you must put the local server as a DNS server in the router and then maybe a remote one, such as 208.67.220.220
If the server is issuing IP addresses, is DNS server running? ____________________ TZR250 2MA road, TZR250 1KT road, TZR250 2MA race, TDR250, YZF-750R Boost colours.

Yeah, if there is no core DNS to keep those records, then hosts. I always hard code the bits I want on a non-server based environment. Unless you intend to add DNS server roles and start using it like a work based network, just keep hosts going strong |

When did you get the superturd3? I've had to make major changes to a work network that uses it because it's pants at upnp and has terrible routing config. It's not modem only and going through a custom box that's the latest box however. Unsure if that's the 3.
Never had DNS issues, it should be aware of DNS of devices, can you ping it's IP with -a and resolve its name OK on a device that doesn't have a modded host. That said, its primary function is to route, badly and attempt to NAT many devices out. I trust the last part, but any other service seems sketchy on it.
Unsure on a home level, but i use bind at home to modify DNS. Probably more work than you need though |

If the router does the DNS and DHCP, could you not just DHCP the server IP, so the router has a record in its DNS?
Does the server really need a static IP? If so can you bind the server network adapter MAC to its IP on your router?
Host files may work, but it feels like bypassing the problem. ____________________ TZR250 2MA road, TZR250 1KT road, TZR250 2MA race, TDR250, YZF-750R Boost colours.

I suppose with only one or two PC's it's a work around. It just means any new clients, or IP changes need all PC's adjusting.
Switching the server to DHCP, whether a random pool address or a particular one bound to the NIC MAC, should cure the problem properly though and be just as easy to setup, if not easier.
Either way, at least it's fixed.
I get this issue at a customer where the telecoms firm removed my data network router and put their own router in to do VOIP and data. I have no access to it and get exactly this as it runs DNS, not the server. I have to map everything using IP, rather than DNS names. It's a pain in the arse. As soon as their VOIP contract is up, they're getting the boot and I'll host the VOIP and put my router back in. ____________________ TZR250 2MA road, TZR250 1KT road, TZR250 2MA race, TDR250, YZF-750R Boost colours.
