Well done that man shame they got away, hope they catch them. Adding stabbing a copper to the rap sheet might get them some time.

Pulling guns on police vans now Shocked

The Police Federation’s Ken Marsh warned in Metro yesterday a minority of people have come to ‘revile’ the force, adding: ‘It’s like a breakdown of society.’

No shit, Sherlock.

The punishment does not seem to fit the crime, and sectors of the population as a result think they can, with impunity, make mayhem. That's not a criticism of any particular sector of the population except slimeballs, BTW.

13 TSG vans and armed support doing three raids simultaneously yesterday to keep the streets safe so less people will get stabbed, melted by acid, shot, robbed or any of the other things which are part and parcel of living in London.

Oh wait no, three cannabis cafes got raided.

Stealing boris bikes has always been a thing. Laughing

Even more of the dockless rental bikes get stolen:
https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2018/aug/25/mobike-no-more-dockless-bikes-could-soon-be-gone-from-uk-streets
https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2018/aug/22/bike-sharing-scheme-mobike-threatens-to-pull-out-of-manchester

"The wheels have already come off schemes operated by Mobike’s rivals. Ofo, another Chinese-owned firm, pulled out of Leeds, Sheffield and Norwich in July"

"Hong Kong firm Go.Bee pulled out of Europe entirely earlier this year after thousands of its bikes were trashed or stolen, going bust soon after. When a Santander-sponsored scheme opened in Milton Keynes in 2016 half the fleet were trashed within a year, leaving a repair bill of £200,000."

https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2017/jul/16/manchesters-bike-share-scheme-isnt-working-because-people-dont-know-how-to-share

"He does admit that the scale of vandalism took him by surprise. It has been far worse than in any of the Asian countries where Mobike operates 5m bikes. “In Singapore we launched our scheme in March with 5,000 bikes and there have been just two reports of broken locks,” he says."

This is why we can't have nice things. Sad

Yep, i work in Sheffield, and it was a total disaster, bikes were being trashed and stuck up in trees, thrown in the many rivers, and even repainted (presumable to try and disguise them), they were even free to use for the 1st few months, and people were still breaking the locks off them

Here's the thing. When something is rammed down a persons throat, in this case the modern, app based, healthy, active
lifestyle™ Rolling Eyes
the natural reaction is to gag. Then reject the notion out of hand. Nothing makes me want to buy an ounce
of weed, a tub of ice cream and 5 bottles of IPA more than some unappointed do-gooder telling me I should live a
healthier life. Why is this so hard for government to understand? Indeed apparently the new hire bikes and cycling in
general are also racist and sexist too because mainly white men use them or cycle at all. You couldn't make this shit up. Laughing

No wonder nobody wants to use them, they are another part of the same government sponsored cancer undermining
the free will of the nation. From the people who bought you the smoking ban and the sugar tax to mention just a couple
of their greatest hits. The first single handedly responsible for financially ruining then sinking about half of the
countrys pub trade. In the future all the big push (down our throats) of cycling will be remembered for is halving our
road capacity for the real reason, which is enabling motorists to be charged even more of a premium to use what roads remain.
All the cycling infrastructure round my way sits there largely unused, despite huge cost and linked reduction in road
space for the rest of the road users.

I'm with you on most of what you say, but I'm afraid I agree with the ban on smoking, and think it should be extended. I'm not against smokers, but i am against inconsiderate smokers. I also don't think vaping should be allowed where smoking isn't, at times that seems even worse !

But anything that reduces the following effect smoking has contributed to my immediate family ..

Mum, died of throat cancer ( smoked since she was a kid)
Dad ( Non smoker, lived with mum, now has heart failure)
Sister in law, has COPD, again smoker
Brother in law just had a stroke, again, long term smoker
Niece's partner, lost both legs due to buerger's descease, again, down to smoking
Uncle, had a massive stroke, which effectively left him as a vegetable for years before he finally died, again, heavy smoker.
Grandad, heavy smoker smoker, died of cancer when I was really young .
Partner & stepson, have severe asthma, due to living with her ex partner, heavy smoker, plus, her mum & dad also heavy smokers, our daughter doesn't have asthma, but then, we don't smoke, and we never left her in a unventilated area where smokers were

Partener's dad, stroke & bowel cancer, yep, you guessed it, heavy smoker.

There's more, however, to emphasize the opposite. My gran who didn't smoke, lived independentaly and was active until just under 100..

Oh, don't get me wrong, there were plenty of folk using them properly, and they were nothing at all to do with the local council/government sponsored etc (AFAIK)

It was just the local lowlife, who have nothing better to do than to ruin these sort of schemes for the majority of those who use them responsibly

Hey, I'm an ex (tobacco) smoker myself. 25 years I was at it. I'm just not sure who ever went to a pub to improve
their health. But I'm fully against having the choice made for me, as were a great very many landlords who are now out of business
because their bread and butter custom now drinks (and drinks much more because it's cheaper at off licence prices) at home,
the last remaining place where you are mostly uncriminalised for choosing to smoke a perfectly legal and heavily taxed product.
Seems to me it's turned the people you used to see in pubs into bigger health hazards than they were before, now they are at
home and drinking more and for longer because the aren't governed by closing time or £5 a pint burning their money up and
they're STILL smoking their lungs black. Fantastic. Thumbs Up Laughing

Yes, but not my lungs, which makes the pub an altogether more pleasant and appealing environment. Oh, and seeing as though we've had 3 new pubs open up round here, all in walking distance, plus 2 completely refurbished pubs, again, in walking distance, shows if you have a landlord/manager that's prepared to put the effort in, keep the beer & cider well, have regular guest ales & ciders, then there's certainly a successful business to be had. I suspect alot of those that went, were basically lazy, and survived on providing a place where you could have a drink & a fag. Probably never even kept the beer well, that certainly fits with what the last 2 pubs that closed around here were like. Really ropey interiors, seat upholstery falling apart etc, and poorly kept beer, and or a choice of lager and smooth pour only, roughly translated as shite beer !!
