U wot, m8? We're talking about the Great Britain, once the ruler of a substantial part of this planet. Globalisation is kind of their thing.

Brexit is about border (migration) control #theytookourjobs and feck Brussels telling us what to do (''opt out'' is the first thing coming to my mind when thinking about the UK's EU membership), even when the UK gov. could influence a lot and decided not to, then explaining the British population whatever went wrong (not well for the UK) was not their fault at all #feckunelectedbureaucrats.

But they are not British, if I was living in France (Where I have lived) and it voted to leave, it would really be nothing to do with me.

I myself don't feel comfortable discussing Irish politics in Ireland again it's nothing to do with me.

In the context of the aforementioned Northern (and other) communities whose resources and graft enabled the birthplace of the industrial revolution, subsequently shared across the world, it's a case of, "We don't need you anymore, we can get it cheaper (never mind the quality) from elsewhere these days, but thanks for passing on your skills, suckers."

What if they've lived here more than anywhere else, and therefore become a citizen?

Unemployment at it's lowest since 1975, wages up by an average of 2%, productivity up - this Brexit thing is proving to be disastrous! Sad

That's a very nearsighted view. It is obvious that as Europeans flee the UK, the British employers now need new people to replace them and as British citizens didn't like those jobs before, all there is left is to raise the wages.

Momentary high demand isn't really something that must dictate the future development.

Czech rep. is in the EU and has the lowest unemployment rate in the whole Europe (not just the EU) and it does well even in the global scale. Does that automatically mean the EU is awesome, or do we take into consideration other factors as well?

Whether that is the case or not, no one predicted it. Not even Itchy Laughing Remember, our economy is supposed to have collapsed by now. I am very disappointed Sad

What happened in 2013 to make an EU economic miracle I wonder?
The EU Accounting Directive was launched. I've no idea what that meant but... oh hang on, Croatia joined in 2013. Dance!
Seriously, what happened?

When you want to improve crime statistics, change the way it's collated.

When you want to make bigger profits, change the way the accountants present the results.

Or just lie. Thumbs Up

Um I think this might and I say this tentatively that the estimated black market economy was to be included in GDP figures for all EU nations. Black market being illegal drug trade, prostitution etc.

2004-2008 was when lots of new countries joined. The big bang in 2008. Then once they had um levelled up (playing an RPG here)they started producing more Poland entering at 305bn and growing to 460bn in that time.

The EU is like the nucleus of a Uranium atom.

It's got bigger and bigger and more unstable, wobbling like one of those massive bubbles you used to blow.

It would only take one feisty little Neutron to fire itself at the nucleus and the whole thing's gonna blow sky high! Thumbs Down

There will be a 2nd referendum. Many remainer and brexit kittens will die. Whatever the result the EU will spank our botties and bring a law that says cats have human rights. Putin, Trump and Erdogan will form an alliance to take Europe down and as a result in a populist backlash Tommy Robinson will do a youtube vid saying I told you so and be elected P.M.
I will go out on my YPVS and think 'Is Tommy right?, and should I change my jets from 195's to 190's co it might be running rich at the top end'.
Lifes a twat aint it? so much pressure to decide whats important.

A second referendum would cause more problems.

Primarily, if remain won, what happens then? Best of three?

Yes. How much did the first referendum cost?

You know what would be fun? If they did arbitration, to decide who wins. Unelected people deciding the future of your sovereign country, just like you Brits like it. Thinking

The 2nd referendum was just an advisory opinion poll, it cheated and is invalid, hence we need a legal re-run.

Last one was void:

Labour former minister David Lammy called on ministers to declare the referendum result “void”.

Call on JC to declare it void then...

Must have taken a while for someone to copy paste job losses and equate them all falsely to Brexit. I mean take a real biggie, Rolls Royce: Maybe, just maybe the job losses are more to do with Trent engine reliability issues and cutting back middle management to compensate. But no, all due to Brexit (insert eye roll emoji).

If they did that (rubber stamp for eu citizens residing for 5 years with the appropriate gibs cheque BTW), then they are british, no?

I agree that those who for whatever, valid reason didnt apply for citizenship, cant have all the trappings of it in a host nation. They are perfectly welcome as guests though

In fairness, zero-hour contracts have gone and completely changed the playing field for assessing employment. One paid hour per week doth not a living wage make, yet it's another tick on the 'people employed' roster.
