Is that not what I did? I just happened to use the 20A fuse holder as the extension.

I have no idea from the passage below.

The fix is to snip the 1 pin wires on either end of the connector, and connect them together using a 20A automotive fuse holder. I have one on the way from ebay, just waiting for it to arrive before I connect it. I have a new soldering iron and some lead solder, so I will likely crimp and solder them together.

I looked at those waterproof Amp Superseal connectors (which I have a massive set of) but it seems they are only rated to about 12A,

More than likely adequate, whats the circuit fused at?

1.6mm superseal can handle 14amps at 60vdc so would've been fine.

Well, it is done now and the bike works. As far as I'm concerned I didn't bodge it and the fix should last the lifetime of the bike.

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

He's probably right about security though... Triumph didn't worry about it until very recently.

AFAIK the insurance companies told Triumph that if they didn't do something about security they would change the insurance group of the bike because they're as easy to steal as an early 350LC or ford cortina, and getting as bad
