I'm watching loads of Andy Kaufman stuff at the moment.

Also, I deleted my netflix account some time ago, and just signed up for a free trial with a new email address etc, watching the first few episodes of Call Saul.

actually, in the first episode of Series 4 Jimmy McGill from Better Call Saul, looks just like Phillip Jennings (in one of his disguises) from The Americans. Shocked

I quite liked the first one, but thought it'd gone a bit down hill from that.

Last episode of the third season of 'Lucky Man' out yesterday - this season is definitely worth a watch. A lot better than a lot of stuff out there, at least.

Latest season of Killjoys - hmmm, off on a bit of a tagent with it's fairly consistent 'arc' storyline for this one.

Latest season of shooter - lost it's sparkle a bit.

Also Thumbs Down for no more Rick and Morty until late next year, but Thumbs Up that they have comissioned 70 new episodes.

Just enjoyed Jack Ryan on Amazon.

Reminded me of the first few series of 24 were, before it became a cycle of:

Bauer good guy, Bauer bad guy, daughter kidnapped, president trusts him over and over and over for the next 5 series.

Just started watching Halt and Catch fire. It's on Amazon Prime included, and I heard someone mention it on some podcast or other, and ended up watching the first episode. It's a bit odd, It's set in 1983 and it's about reverse engineering an IBM PC to make a clone. The names of the companies involved have been changed, so who knows how much of the rest is accurate? The story in the first ep seems to be very prefunctory...

... However, I found it very compelling, and I'm planning to watch the rest of the three seasons unless it goes really downhill. I think the producers were going for a 'Mad Men in the 1980s' concept, and if so, it's working reasonably well so far. I'm into computing history and stuff like that, so it is something that does appeal to me (and won't appeal to everyone) but so far I'm very much enjoying it.

The Deuce - 8/10

70's, New York, Mafia, porn and prostitution. Very well made, James Franco is excellent in it.

Lodge 49

Its on Amazon. Surfer dude recovering form his fathers death/disappearance and the resulting loss of the family business falls in with a crowd of people who belong to a club called The Lynx`s. Hes basically looking for a new direction in life and some friendship but there`s more to this club than meets the eye.

Im only a few episodes in but its good so far. Engaging funny characters and a nice bit of mystery thrown in.

I always though 24 was bollocks. It took twenty four weeks to watch what could be shown in an hour and a half just with some competent editing. The whole show was just a dumb gimmick to screw people out of money. As soon as I realised that I stopped watching it half way through the first season.

Same thing being done with The Purge. Which im enjoying but only because i`m cheap and its free on Amazon Prime and I cant be bothered shelling out cash for the movies.

For those that liked Bodyguard; it's a bit more 'far out' as it goes on, but "Killing Eve" definitely worth a watch (especially for Hellkat, I reckon!)

The Haunting of Hill House - Netflix

New adaptation of the novel.

Proper jump out of your seat, squeal, scary. I recommend keeping a cushion handy to hide behind, as well as a pair of clean pants Shocked

Dammit.
I hate when someone predicts me, and gets it right.

Just watched the first episode.
So far it has everything to keep me entertained.
Stylish, humorous, a bit "out there" , dangerous women ... murders...

Norsemen on Netflix

Described as a dark comedy, its not 'haha' funny but has its moments where it is incredibly humorous about Vikings, pillaging and raiding England for slaves. I have just finished series one but its only six episodes so doesn't take long!

I gave both a go and thought they were awful Neutral I have however been watching:

https://stz1.imgix.net/web/contentId/21220/type/KEY/dimension/1536x2048?w=228&fm=jpg&auto=compress,format

...and really enjoying it. Misogyny, racism (towards all races), the blaxploitation narrative but also with opposing views. Diversity without it being made a big deal of. This is how to do it. What I will say is the first half of season one seemed a bit meh, it got better after that.

I'm avoiding the Hill House thingie, cos I'm all Dark and Deadlied up to the eyeballs at the moment.

So after having rinsed Killing Eve in less than a week, and then a week to kill on the sofa with Robbie the Greyhound, I've taken up watching Luther (after work, cos *sigh* offices need to be officed and all that).

I'm only on Episode 3 but I've decided its worth a watch.*

Happy happy happy there are 4 series of Luther to do catch-up with, until I find something new to watch.

* And nothing to do with Idris Elba having nice eyes, either.

Its mainly because of "oh no, not another stylish psychopathic serial-killer bird".
It's good to have stylish role models. Even if they like to poke you in the eye with a hat pin, and then watch you bleed out.

Serial killer men are so clumsy, and if they're not constantly dorkish, tumescent or clumsy, then they're some other kind of unattractively fucked-up.

The only decently sexy male serial killer lately has been Dexter. That grin, those shiny white American/Kennedy teeth. That eyebrow.

I had a brief pash for Tuco in Breaking Bad, but he was too much for me, too hyper, too Latino crazzzzzzyyyyy-guy, I'm so done with chemical-heads.

Although its entirely possible I've not quite got up to speed with this series-binging malarkey, there's no doubt a lot of people with warpoedema of the brain that I've missed out in my 10 or so years absence from the delights of the televisual.

I'm gettin' square eyes again.
Wub

Don't get two excited, series 2 and 3 are four episodes (down from 6 in series 1), series 4 is only two episodes. How many episodes do you need to make a series? Thinking I can only assume his fee went up Smile

Shame as I really like it. I also like spotting bits of London I know, mainly dodgy estates Wub
