getting up early on a Saturday morning, and lying on my stomach eating my cornflakes, watching Open University on the telly before the kids shows came on, when I was about 4,5,6 - and picking small fragments of it up, then astounding my parents when I came out with random facts

Bottom.

And the raft of sci-fi from the early to mid 90s, X-Files, space above and beyond, dark skies, Buffy, farscape, sliders.

I used to watch a lot of early hours tv then and there used to be a gaming show on in the middle of the night on ch4, can't remember what it was called but it was proper budget.

I was gutted at the time that they never made another series of this.

Anyone remember Secret Squirrel?....... “bulletproof coat, cannon hat, machine gun stick with a rat-at-tat-tat”
Or Squidly Didly?
Catweazle?
HR Puffnstuff?

More recently there was an American series called Alphas about people who were just beginning to learn their unique powers.
I enjoyed it, but alas it didn’t last long Confused

I've got a couple of good ones that were on CITV in the 80's

Chocky

Dramarama

Both of them scared the shit out of me as an 11 year old. Chocky was a book written by John Wyndham (he of Day of the Triffids fame) and was never intended to be for children.
